Guaranteed barnburner here. Two action fighters who packed plenty of pop. I find McFarland a little more versatile on film but Castillo was good enough to give Mayweather all he could handle. For now, I'm going to take McFarland more on his consistency... but willing to think a bit more over this one.

What's crazy is that Packey would be the bigger man in the ring...

I think he can do it. McFarland could really go, although his best wins were against boxers, he can deal with the pressure and take a close decision.

Lesser fighters than Packy McFarland KO'd prime Jose Luis Castillo.

Packy McFarland by KO in 10th

Just to play Devil's Advocate, Castillo arguably beat the greatest fighter of his generation.

Packey stiff arms a glove over Castillo's eyes and cracks him something fierce.

True, but for example Kirkland Laing also holds a win over one of the best fighters of his generation yet I won't pick him to beat former greats.

Castillo was limited fighter, always. He struggled badly vs small and featherfisted Stevie Johnson, who by no means is Packy McFarland.

Jauregi KO'd him not once, but twice.

JLC beat (debatably) a prime all time great, not a faded, old disinterested all time great.

    Just saying.

And I am still picking McFarland.

Packey for me. In a fair world he might just have been the goat.

A fighter deserving more attention, to say the least.
