Oh and to answer the thread starter, Robinson is just in a different league to Pac. I could see him stopping him around the 8th.
Journeyman - take a journey. a 1 way trip to the middle of the pacific ocean, tie a few bricks to your legs and jump out of your boat SRR wins and it's not even close
he was beating those guys because he was just that good, despite being well past prime. don't know about 'shot' though... the robinson fight was a financial favour for a friend.
Well past prime at 30 while beating Zivic/Angott though? Past his absolute best yes but just because he lost a few doesn't mean he was well past it, he may well have lost to the likes of Zivic in his pomp. Is there a source for it being a favour, I know Armstrong was Ray's hero, it's said Robinson carried him, Armstrong complained Robinson wouldn't engage
well, it's just my interpretation of his declining skills. i wasn't inferring anything from his record as such. also, the very fact he retired a couple of years earlier seems to imply that he thought he was done. and it's not unusual for fighters who fight like him to decline relatively steeply. i haven't read anything that explicitly says that it was a favour, but i thought armstrong came out of retirement for money? mayweather-style
