if Arum says it might do up to 900K then the real numbers will likely end up around 700K

I think even less than a million should do it. You know how Floyd is and what he'll say. This could be bad especially if Floyd/Shane does close to 2 million. He'll be demaning 60/40

"60-40 I kick yo ass!"

To be fair if Floyd does near 2mil with Mosley and this fight does less than 800k, I think Floyd definitely should get a bigger share. Not sure how that will work though, both ego's are huge now.

Floyd is a great self promoter and recently GBP have gone all out on promoting his fights.

It's funny how times change. It wasn't too long ago that Manny struggled to crack 200k against unknowns and doing close to 400k against Juan Manuel Marquez was considered a big success.

  8. He wasn't getting anywhere near the media attention in the US back then. Since beating Marquez he's become the first boxer to win titles in 7 weight classes and the first boxer to win 4 different lineal titles as well. It's reasonable that he's becoming more popular as he's breaking boxing records.

    Now you're talkin.....

I normally will shell up for the PPV, but got turned off this time due to Pac's refusal to legitly get tested for PED's, and the fact that Arum matched Pac against one of his own fighters.

There is normally 2 other homes in my block of people I know that buy the fight....and neither of those homes bought the PPV either.

I ended up watching it on a free stream.

Why would 1 mil be a miracle, pac is p4p the best boxer in the world, and we also know he is a huge draw with a more fan friendly style that the fans want to pay to see (at home or at the arena). Why would 1 mil be a miracle at this stage of his career?

That being said I think it did 950K, which is disappointing as many declared pac the ppv draw.

I would be surprised if it did over 500,000

That would be a huge success!!

Whoa there, back up a second! Pacquiao has just dominated Cotto and Clottey in his last two fights, two of the best welters in the world and a million miles from being bums. Who has Mayweather fought at welter to date? Baldomir is the only genuine welterweight he fought, and Baldi is a shocking fighter. Cotto and Clottey are far, far better than anything that Mayweather has on his ledger at 147lbs. If anyone should be accused of fighting sub-par opposition at welter it should be Floyd, not Manny. The Mosley fight is his first legitimate test at welter IMO, and even then it's a Mosley who is several years past his prime.

Back to the original point, i'd say about 700k.
