I know what you're saying mate,but Hatton became clinically depressed after the Pac KO,and went on a downward spiral that ended up with him on the front of the tabloids and on the verge of suicide. He handled the comeback loss much better.As you say,devastating losses affect different fighters differently.Manny lives a clean life now(which may be part of the problem in a roundabout way) so knows facing up to things is the way to go. I'm a big Marquez fan but I've always respected Manny,and still do.

It's tough to imagine what these guys go through after a loss. And in Hatton's case, he again had a huge following in his country. I remember those guys made the cross country trip to Vegas for the Mayweather fight. I don't remember how it was for the Pacquiao/Hatton fight, but I assume it was similar. There's been cases in baseball where a pitcher, Donnie Moore, gave up a game ending home run, and it took a toll on him so much the next year, he committed suicide. So, I'm sure he was disappointed with himself, but supposedly the fans wouldn't let him forget about it. But I definitely respect all that Manny has done and is doing for the sport. I just don't really care for his team that much; Roach, Koncz, Ariza, etc.
