He's not aesthetically pleasing to my eye. Very effective at what he does, his resume and career achievements speak for themselves, but I'd sooner watch Canizales pick apart Seabrooks with beautiful counterpunches or watch Marco Antonio Barrera put together combinations than watch Pacquiao fight. Like I said though, his legacy speaks for itself just not my type of style.
The fact that he's a southpaw can make for some akward action. Although that southpaw style is probably one of the main reasons he's so effective. I didn't like his style much before either, but he's polished him game over the last couple years so he doesn't make for such ugly action anymore.
If I wanted to impress my friends, I just wouldn't put on a video of Manny Pacquiao. The same as I wouldn't put on a video of Michael Spinks. They were exceptional fighters, but they're styles weren't particularly nice on the eye.
i kinda agree to that... although current pac is fun to watch with his new found skills and technique. His style probably make people underrate his boxing IQ but in reality pac is a very smart fighter. His ring experience is top notch.
Only Margacheato and Pacquiao did this to Cotto but Marg might be aided with concrete. Pacquiao is sooooooo good in mauling opponents.
I dont get it, whats wrong with his style? its pretty effective and work the way he wanted to. He impress the majority of people and thats all the matters. Forget the minority whos into pure boxing after all you cant impress everyone so its no lost really.
he throws weird punches and gets hit more often (post oscar) for a boxing purist "aesthetically" it's hard to appreciate...
