fact is, Floyd is fighting for Golden Boy on May 5th.

Pac is a Top Rank fighter. Floyd and especially Golden Boy don't want to co-promote this fight with Top Rank, as indicated by the 40M dollar offer with no upside.

Unfortunately for them, Arum has a contract with Pac, so they can't just shove him aside and keep him out of the loop.

Also, asking Pac for additional drug testing was about as clear a sign that they didn't really want the fight as can be.

Mosley was asked for additional drug testing, and turned it down. Schaefer said "We are not going to do other tests than the Nevada commission requires. The fact is Shane is not a cheater and he does not need to be treated like one."

Hopkins was asked for additional drug testing and said "If someone asks you to do something because they want you to do it, are you gonna do it? I mean, am I a puppet? I follow all the orders of what the commission says."

Then Floyd and Golden Boy claim Pac is cheating and has to take tests or there will be no fight. That's basically like saying "There will be no fight."

Floyd and Golden Boy have too much to lose if Pac beats Floyd.

    what's your point?

i'll ask you this question, if you guys think pac is so powerless in making this fight, then why did floyd called pac directly and offered him $40M instead of arum?

and why won't you answer why floyd rejected a fair 50/50 split for this fight?

so manny and bob arum have nothing to lose? nothing of signifigance???

lol....thats a load of horse**** chief.....you tell me what kind of hero manny would be to his legion of fans if he were to get beat to the tune of, say, 8 rounds to 4???.....bob arum would probably channel jack kevorkian or order one of those suicide kits online if his newest cultivated star were ruined by the slave that escaped his plantation.....lolol...its just floyd and golden boy that have anything to lose!!!

Plenty of boxers since Floyd have asked and taken tests. Dreadful excuse you are making. This dates back to holyfield vs tyson. Floyd didnt have to agree to 10 mil weight penalty did he?

Well said. Pac struggles with A lightweight who Floyd completely dominated means this fight has even less chance of happening till arum is ready to cash out.

I'm blaming Bob Arum for not being prepared to negotiate the fight, you seem to be hiding behind the 50/50 as it puts the blame at the feel of Mayweather, even though it's a moot point in all of this as Pacquiao's promoter refused to negotiate.

When Arum is prepared to come to the table, they can negotiate a fair split and each side will make concessions where needed.

When Pacquiao was asked after the Marquez fight he said it was up to Arum, he's not in a position to demand anything and you know it.

Whoever you are a fan of, you have to admit in this situation, Floyd is int he wrong, no other way than 50/50, as fair as it gets specially if you want the fight. Having said that, whether Floyd did accept it or not, Arum would have thought of something else to prevent it happening but at least Floyd/Pac will be on the same tune and may force Arum to make it happen. Arum said the cut was a problem - Pac publicly denied that and said he could fight.

    you forgot to answer this...

so why did floyd called pacquiao and not arum if you think pacquiao has no power to enforce a floyd fight which he actually requested arum when they talked? it makes no sense for floyd to talk to pacquiao directly and offer him $40M w/ no PPV upside if he thinks pac is so powerless in making the fight.

you took one sentence at the end of my post, assumed it meant something I didn't say, and then ignored the rest of the post... and then said it's a load of horse****. Why don't you actually read the whole post.

Look at Schaefer's and Hopkins' reactions with regards to drug testing.

Look at how GBP and Mayweather reserved a venue and signed agreements for a fight on May 5th before even agreeing with Pac that a fight would take place.

Just look at the facts and use common sense.

anyways that's the last i'll be posting in this thread.

Do you know an answer to this? Or is it a general question?

I'd say he done it to make sure Pacquiao wants the fight and for him to put pressure on Arum to come to the negotiating table with Schaefer.

He pays people to negotiate with promoters, so why have a dog and bark yourself?

What's wrong with booking a venue on the weekend that Pacquiao has fought on in 2 of the last 3 years?

Lets be honest here, if they didn't book it Arum would have.
