people and mostly brits are even accusing pac of ducking that time becasue pac thinks he deserves more than 50-50 and would not sign the fight. arum giving him the extra 2% made the trick and the rest was history. mop-up? so one lost to the best fighter that time and he is now a mop-up job? what can you say to floyd fighting marquez after those hard fights with pac, casa and juan diaz?

Even though Hatton argubly wasn't the best JWW at the time, he was the true linear-champion at JWW so there should be no issue for anyone who believes you have to beat the man to be the man.

Hatton's KO-loss to Mayweather at WW does not factor into the equation for the purposes of a linear champ at JWW. Hatton is given a pass for facing Lazcano as part of regaining his confidence then went on to a dominating TKO against then top 5 ranked Malignaggi.

I have to say though, Manny, Roach and Arum must be geniuses when it comes to analyzing opponents... because they almost never fail to see weaknesses that only they know about. Making them 100% confident that Pac will win, despite what all other analysts say about how dangerous a certain fight will be for Pac.

Pac hasnt cherrypicked anyone but mosley.
After cotto and mayweather fight fell through he fought clottey a lot of people thought clottey would balloon up to 160 at fightnight and giev him problems like he did cotto, instead he went ***** and tried to reach the final bell. Wouldnt call it a cherrypick who else should he have fought then? Margarito was a bull**** fight because he didnt deserve it at all but he showed up in the best form of his life has huge size advantages a pressure style advantages, thats why a lot fo people thought he would walk pac down because maragrito would shake of pacs punches, his performance was good. Again not a cherrypick but bob arum matching him that in case margarito won he would have had a lot of opportunity to make more money out of other fights. Mosley I do consider a cherrypick. So thats 1....

malignaggi was only ranked #5 back then? from what i understand he is the #1 ranked 140 that time while hatton was the champ. bradley only has witter on his resume back then.

Absolutley , they are quite a team !

Thats why I agreed with magic , not quite a cherry pick but you could tell in the build up Manny and Freddie knew they were gonna skelp Hatton.

so... you're saying that Roach is a good trainer not because he can come up with a good strategy that could be followed by Pac, but because he can spot a hypejob opponent who looks like a good fighter but actually isn't and can be easily beaten because the opponent isn't any good not because his fighter is very good.

Timmyjames is quite a decent poster actually.

So he felt that Manny cherrypicked on Hatton, and what? I felt it was a mop-up, not quite a cherry pick, but I am more than sure Freddy had himself a very hard look at Hatton - Lazcano and Hatton - Floyd.. Hatton - Malignaggi was predictable by EVERYONE on here, because Paulie was with Buddy "Drink some water BABY" McGirt.

hatton was coming off a brutal ktfo by pbf.....so he was far from his best, total mismatch w/ pac...but prob not a cherrypick in my opinion.
on the othe rhand cover up clottey, margocheato, and old shot ssm are massive cherry picks!!
