Very good post, there's allways a "prejudice of time" as you call it, but if you think in guys like Edwin Rosario, considered for a lot of people one of the hardest hitters of all time P4P, Chavez took his best shots easily. I agree he didn't fight any boxer with the combination of power/speed that Pac has but I still thik Chavez wins in a late TKO
I like Chavez by tko in this one in the late rounds. Damn, I miss watchin that s.o.b. whoop ass, lol.
If you haven't seen the DDiaz to Hatton fight then you wouldn't know that Pacquiao can move backwards now. He is no longer a one dimensional boxer. He can move from side to side. He has power in his left and right hands. Like Chavez, Pacquiao can throw punches from different angles not to mention that his speed is above normal. I'm not saying that Pacquiao can beat a prime Chavez but Pacquiao is still improving and we still don't know his boxing and physical prime. (and no, he was not in his prime when he was 20 something.)
Chavez would have defo took it to Pac's body like NEVER before. Plus JCC also had a great right hand & solid battle tested chin. Pac would defo have to fight unlike I have ever seen him to hang w/Chavez. I love Hatton, But a prime Chavez had good lateral/head movement. (So don't expect him to get caught w/anything close to what RH get's hit with) If this is @ 140lbs then this should/would prob be the JCC of the Taylor fight. If this happens @ a lower weight, I'd prob say the JCC from the "Chapo" Rosario fight. either way, Id favor Chavez.
I will supose this takes place at 130. I'm going to go with late round ko for Chavez while down on points. This might be naive on my part but most of the Chavez fights I have seen was post Chavez vs. Taylor 1. Thart fight exposed a flaw in Chavez. Speed bothers him and Pacquiao has speed. However Chavez wore down Taylor and I think he would ware down Pacquiao as well.
