So what? Neither Alavardo nor Rios are anything to write home about, and I think he beats both. If anything he should fight the guy coming off a win not the guy coming off a loss. Rios doesn't deserve the fight.
If he can't beat two guys like Alvarado or Rios, both of which are pretty much tailormade for him then he needs to retire. With Rios he will tee off on an be gone before Rios can return fire which would be pretty much the same with Alvarado as well.
Great comeback fight, very exciting. Better and more action-packed than Pac-Alvarado IMO. I scored the Rios-Alvarado fight a draw anyway.
Alvarado has been exposed and beaten, too. Hence why he was being scoffed at being an opponent by the same people who want him as one now . In terms of threat, there really is no difference between Alvarado and Rios. In fact, Rios will likely give a Pac a tougher night because he hits harder and is more durable. Alvarado may have won the last fight, but because he's more vulnerable (can be rocked and cut/bruised up much easier), he will probably lose to Rios in a third fight and have less of a chance than Rios on capitalising Pac's decline.
style wise it should be good for pac he does better with aggressive fighters. I see rios being too slow in the exchanges.
You're saying that it's bad to fight a guy coming off a loss. Then you're saying that Alvarado, who scored a good win in his last fight, should fight a guy coming off a brutal KO loss in his last fight and a points loss in the fight before that. Logic fail.
I wouldnt even say anyting if i didnt see the same people in here claiming its a good fight who ***** and moaned bout floyd fighting guerrero..its hilarious..hell they could annoucne manny was fighting guerrero and ya'll would now say its a great fight
To those who defended the Mayweather-Guerrero matchup, have you no shame in trying to criticise this Pac-Rios one?
actually, it's a good comeback fight for pacquiao. it'll boost his confidence and he should get the knockout. i feel bad for rios though. he's gonna get beaten to a bloody pulp. he's extremely limited. he might end up ******ed. the build up should be great. there's genuine bad blood between the two camps.
I won money of Alvarado-Rios because the odds were too steep. However, Rios is a higher quality fighter than Alvarado. Rios fought a little too stupidly and carelessly and gave Alvarado too many openings. I mean, I like Mike but we're talking about a guy that struggled badly against Bredis Prescott. I would almost guarantee Rios would beat Alvarado in a trilogy if the fight ever happened, but Pac may beat him up badly enough for that to not come to fruition.
Pac is held to a higher standard than most guys who come off of loses. Afterall the media named him fighter of the decade.:rofl. He should fight the guy coming off the win that's what I'm saying. He would beat either one but Alvarado deserves his shot before Rios does.
Rios is top 5 at 140, hes ranked 6 on the ring rankings but he is screwed in that all the names ahead of him are with Golden Boy and he cant get them at the minute. Rios would destroy Khan with ease, I think he does Peterson in too.
