I remember contributing to this thread several pages ago (and there's hardly been several pages worth of actual progress here..) I asked a legitimate question (addressed to PacDBest, and then brooklyn1550, but open to all) on page 2 that has yet to receive a legitimate answer.
Heres your answer, lets say that Rafa and Pac had equal power at 122, which is the answer that you want. What you forget is that it was PACs inhuman speed at 122 that made him sensational. There were alot of power punchers at 122..Gomez comes to mind as the Hardest puncher ever at this weight, but the combo of speed and power..thats what made Pac extra special.. even now..you cant find a fighter in boxing with the combo that PAC possesses. You can do an inverted, upide down, slightly to the left, mother of all polls, PAc will come out on top when it comes to speed and pop. I dont always agree with Brook except for this one. That left wil connect at will against RAFA and IZZY.. they cant stop it.. I see KO's.
But at 122, Marquez had much better timing and punch placement. Sure Pacquiao had the speed advantage. The counter to that is timing. Marquez would be tougher for Pacquiao at 122 than Vasquez IMO because of styles. I think it's 60/40 in favor of Pacquiao over Marquez, and 80/20 over Vasquez.
Well, remember, Pacquiao skipped over 118 from 112. I don't think he could have beaten Marquez at 118. Even with his speed, Marquez was every bit the puncher Pacquiao P4P and is a much better boxer.
Actually it was Roach who said that Pac has the Chance to be as Great as SRR. Once Pac beat Diaz, Juan, Hatton & PBF, that statement could be coming true.
When you have a great fighter like MAB who was "still" in his prime and have faced guys like Hamed and Erik who brings it and you have him CONFUSED.. That should tell you something. That was Pacs 1st fight at 126 and he faced at the time the no 4 p4p fighter in the world...who does that??? when you have a blistering career already at 122? PAC stepped up big time but thats forgotten now... Remember boys..PAC agreed to fight MAB, JMM and Erik in a years time! Its insane!!!...if only these fools can digest that and appreciate it.
