pac-man belongs more at around featherwieght you're acting like 25 pounds dosent mean anything. why do you think there are wieghtclasses. and dlh has to cut wieght but he knows he can do it. and you ddont think dlh wont rehydrate back up to about 155 to 160, why do u think thet didnt have same day wiegh-ins for the mayweather fight.
Where did I act like 25 pounds means nothing? Please point it out. Was it where I said, "the difference in size IS large"? Do you interpret capital letters as meaning the opposite, rather than putting emphasis on something? Oscar is looking very, very trim at the moment, and while I don't believe he's already made the 147 as suggested by his camp, I don't believe he'll come in at 160 come fight night. I think it will only be a few pounds over, because he is looking very, very trim. Pacquiao usually weighs around 147 on fight night anyway doesn't he?
you downpalyed the diffence in wieght, you said is was not bad, that what you claimed. and you know that is not just about the number. natural strength favors dlh and you dont even have to look at the wieght to tell that. anyway, pac is the one who called him out so is desnet matter but more then likely, dlh overpowers the smaller fighter.
Felix Trinidad's stamina is superior to that of Roy Jones......but after being active enough to take the early rounds vs Jones, he gassed down the stretch of the fight and Jones took over late. Trinidad has never been known to gas during a fight. In fact, he's been known as one of the best conditioned fighters of his era. ......but against Jones, he fournd himself punching at a bigger man. A bigger man that he had to consistently put that extra emphasis on his shots to make Roy respect him enough to keep him off him. That extra that Pac will have to put in each of his shots to make DLH respect him, is what will likely tire Pac down the stretch...... I think that if the fight goes to the late round, DLH being the bigger man, will be the fresher fighter. DLH punching at a much smaller fighter will also work to his benefit. He can concentrate less on the power of his shot, as it will take less to move the smaller Pacquiao, and more on being accurate with his shots. The bigger man is not going to have to put everything into his shots for the punches to hurt and take their toll. A fighter gasses when he has to work to keep the other off of him. I dont believe that will be the case for DLH vs Pacquiao......bad news for Pacquiao!
How much did Diaz weigh? Believe me, DLH will be two weight divisions past what a mollases slow stationary Diaz was against Pac......and Pac was barely moving the lightweight. I think you're wrong, Pac will not be allright!
Good post, Divac. And as we saw in Margo/Cotto a fighter's very size/precence is enough to make a smaller opponent move backwards as well.
pac will come in at 150-151 for this fight, compared to the 147 in the diaz fight. the good thing is that pac will not have to struggle to make weight at 147. i think he even struggled a bit to make 135. his stamina as well as his speed should therefore be good for this fight. pac has been sparring and training at 151 lbs with welters/superwelters for many weeks now. he should be accustomed to the weight by now. pac's main sparring partner is a superwelter and is almost 6 ft. (5'11 3/4") tall. but again, sparring is obviously very different from an actual fight so who knows... at least pac seems to be doing the right preparations for this fight.
The fact that Pac has had to dehydrate himself to make weight in the past, is what has given him the strenghth and power advantage. Seems to me that Pac has been very adept of knowing how to dehydrate, and hydrate back while still mantaining his strenghth and energy. Arturo Gatti made a career on knowing just how to dehydrate and hydrating back.........the higher in weight he climbed, the less effective he became. This is likely the first time that Pac wont have to dehydrate himself to any significant extent......thus he wont have a physical mass advantage. Does anyone know when or if ever Pac has been outweighed on fightnight???
Most would argue Pac has better stamina but dlh's size, strength and power can neutralise that. If it's a physical fight then Pac will use up more energy.
the first barrera fight @126 and the first and second morales fights @130. morales outweighed pac by about 6 lbs in the first and 3 lbs on the second. i think jmm also outweighed pac in their first fight @126.
dlh isn't exactly a physical fighter, is he? he doesn't hold and lean his weight on an opponent. he's not an inside fighter and fights mainly in the outside with his jabs, wide left hooks and straights making use of his reach and height.
