Parker only chose the Ruiz fight because Hearn was playing games with his team and really wanted the Wlad fight.
Bullocks how can you say that when AJ is the one calling the shots. You don't think AJ and his team knew Pulev wasnt reliable when he said he needed more time 3 months ago?
AJ calling the shots? He wanted to fight Whyte again, but was told by Hearn that that was only possible if Takam said no and the next 3/4 contenders also turned it down. AJ was given 2 weeks for Takam, and dealt with him easily.
Nah Parker was originally supposed to fight AJ in September but AJ fought Breazeale as a voluntary instead then they offered the fight to Parker for early next year and the WBO offered him a title shot so he took that instead.
No hearns wanted the Wlad fight for AJ, even though Parker wanted to fight AJ and was in negotiations with Park's team
Hearn doesn't make the rules up on mandatories..... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/anthony-joshua-wanted-old-rival-11384094
Hearn told Takam to be on stand by, if he told Takam that we can safely also assume he told AJ we have Takam on standby so be ready for either man.
I didn't criticise him, so stop being precious. I only outlined the reason behind Parker choosing to fight Ruiz because Hearn was stalling. Of course it made much more sense for Joshua to fight Wlad after Fury pulled out of the rematch but there are people out there pretending that Parker ducked AJ and this rightly has to be corrected.
It isn't as simple as that though. "Get ready for either man".... You wouldn't prepare the same way for Mike Tyson as you would for Lennox Lewis.
I'd still consider Parker to be Joshua's stiffest test outside of Povetkin and maybe Ortiz, but he's shown plenty of flaws of his own in recent fights, and he hasn't made the sort of noise that could warrant anyone picking him in anything but an upset. He needs to make a statement against Browne before running his mouth about Joshua. Right now there'd only be one winner.
Not sure people can accuse Parker of ducking AJ..... He isn't a big enough name to have earned a fight with him.
