I have no doubt that Ngannou will have another high profile boxing match, but I'd be absolutely shocked if it was against Parker.
Some folks are talking about a potential fight with Zhang for the December 23rd date. Sadly I doubt that'll happen, too good to be true. But hey, it ain't quite undisputed but it'd still be a hell of a fight to end the year on, especially in a year in desperate need of quality big heavyweight fights
Same, would be a hell of a fight and would be a good look for Ngannou to take two such big fights in a row. At the same time, it'd also mean that a 40 year old man was one of the more active heavyweights of 2023, and a 37 year old MMA fighter more consistently took on bigger challenges. If you had told me at the beginning of the year these two guys would be putting the rest to shame and this would be one of my top wanted fights, I doubt I'd have believed you, but here we are
Don’t read into the Whyte fight that much, Parker got dropped by a headbutt, had to take a few rounds to recover, came back strong and almost stopped Whyte in the last round, 15-30 more seconds and Parker would of been the winner.
Parker is much younger than the rest of the champs There is a chance he could come again But he needs some breaks to go his way
Even if Parker could have got the win with different officiating, I don't see how there's not a lot to read into there. Parker went 50-50 with Whyte, Chisora, Ruiz, lost clearly to Joshua and Joyce. We saw what happened when Whyte and Chisora fought Fury.
At 31 Parker needs to get some power from somewhere to challenge any elite fighter. i.e. he'd need to juice like he's Ben Johnson.
Wilder is 38. Zhang is 40. Usyk and Fury realistically retire in a year or 2. Parker will then be 32 or 33.
Francis I would imagine is going to be seeking and no doubt getting big bucks for his next fight, whoever is promoting better have deep pockets.
