I haven't seen the fight yet. Was pissed with my viewing last night so gave up. Dawson is a dopey as he sounds. I think also from what i heard his corners advice wasn't the best? heard all Eddie said was ''the jab's the key!!''..dunno if that's the truth. Fact is i did wonder what Dawson would do if Pascal used lots of lateral movement and boxed off back foot and raid in with shots. I thought he'd have an answer but i felt Pascal had a chance. Proud of Pascal really am. I think Dawson's level of opposition is his undoing because for him to say Pascal is the best ''Technical'' fighter he's fought that says a lot. He been used to guys who make him look good and come to him. He acted like a ***** in that Press Conference. Has he ever seen Pascal fight...**** was he expecting a battle of wits. Pascal's the definition of the old school warrior. Froch's stock just went up last night as well IMO.
yeh i wouldnt bet against dawson. i think pascals speed really troubled dawson though. sometimes fast fighters cannot cope when they fight someone who matches them for speed.
Dawson's corner were horrendous last night. Pretty much thought Pascal had gassed from round 3 onwards and thought he was winning. I don't think Dawson has faced poor oppo. Tarver looked impressive against woods, johnson is johnson and he beat Adameck. The problem with Dawson last night is he didnt fight like a challenger. no urgency, no realisation he was fighting a champion in there home town.
yeah from what i heard he did but he roughed him up as well. Pascal is a warrior he doesn't no any better then to get up close and physical at times. He did what i felt would give him a chance. Used his legs. Dawson wanted him to sit there with him mid-ring.
Dawson's never gonna be the real deal if he keeps hurting people and not going in for the kill. Much more (controlled) aggression is needed. I'd fancy Cloud to eat Dawson up at the moment.
Yeah i see your point but..Woods was terrible against Tarver and yes it was a fight worth taking i agree but the rematch although something he had to do beacause it was in contract it wasted time for him. He's been to used to fighting fighters who either walked into him or stood and boxed with him and didn't match his athleticism. Last night he met someone who had something he hasn't met before that's why i feel his opposition hasn't been great for him on a long term viewing. I think Chad thinks he's to cute a fighter and doesn't know when to open up. Remember that was first time he had to chase a fight like that....it sounded like had no clue.
Yeah, he gave up all his leverage (the WBC title) to take a fight with Tarver and stupidly gave away a rematch clause - instead of just fighting Diaconu and fighting Tarver later if that's what he wanted. The last time he faced an opponent younger than 39 was when he fought Adamek, which was ages ago..... the pace Pascal set might have caused problems. It's one I've got to watch when it goes up on YT.
pascal was looking abit vulnerable in the 11th but its bollocks if people say chad had him beat if the cut never happened for starters pascal still knew what he was doing and just before the cut he caught dawson sweetly. pascal deserved it.
I think Dawson will **** him second time around. Pascal was outworked out landed and and out 'accurated' he did nothing to suggest he won that fight. Dawson looked levels above him and when he adapted that check hook landed all night long.
That's a wonderful way to rewrite history! Please, did you watch the "Make you own ending" version of the fight?
Pascal comes across as a top bloke there and a warrior. On the other hand Chad Dawson just went down a bit in my estimation. Whining like a ***** and full of excuses.
