In the Montreal Bell Centre! :thumbsup In case you somehow missed their first meeting in June, it was a fight of the year candidate, all out war, with Pascal winning a hard-fought decision and picking up the WBC Light Heavyweight belt. But fortunately for us, there's no politics and double-headers here: Diaconu will get the chance to get the title back right away, while Pascal made a quick mandatory defense vs. Branco a few weeks ago (and he didn't look too good), so it's a go. Both fighters have enough heart and defensive holes to produce another great fight, so let's go! :happy
I think he could pull it off to. Diaconu fought the wrong fight last time imo. I expected him to put lots pressure on Pascal, whilst he did put pressure on him he never put him under the kind of relentless pressure that i expected him to. He closed the distance to slow in the first fight, if he does start fast in the rematch and takes i straight to Pascal then i give him a good chance, he also hurt Pascal late in the fight to.
Excellent, the first fight was great. I enjoy how Canadian fights happen on Friday nights, it often means two big fights in one weekend.
I have no interest in this rematch. Pascal is clearly the better fighter and would be even dominant in the rematch. I would like to see the Dawson-Pascal next for unification.
It's a possibility still. Part of it will probably depend on whether they can get a US network to pick up the fight. If not, then I'm not sure the money will be there for a top level undercard.
Thanks ! It has more chances to end up on Friday night fights than anything else if its on a Friday...It would be ridiculous not to broadcast such a good card.
I'd probably have to agree with you on this one. I know I saw the first fight, but don't really remember much from it. I'd almost prefer Dawson to go back to 168 since he supposedly can do it easily enough.
1- The rematch was already planned before the first fight even took place. 2- That fight will be huge in Montreal since the first fight was so entertaining. 3- Nobody else worth a damn is available to fight (Dawson, Johnson, Hopkins, etc...)
First fight was good. Think this is a contracted rematch! Looking forward to Pascal laying down another good win.
