If (when) Pascal beats BHop on Saturday does that make him the favourite for fighter of the year?
    Who are the other contenders?

Sergio Martinez. Beat 1 and 2 at the weight in Pavlik and Williams and done Williams in brutal style.

Good call with Martinez. Not too many standout contenders are there?

  5. If Pascal stops Hopkins or beats him convincingly then he's in with a shout.

Juan Manuel Lopez also deserves a mention.

if he stops Hopkins in impressive fashion he would go ahead of Martinez.

Depends how he wins against Hopkins.

If Pascal beats Hopkins he would have done the same beating the 1 and 2 at the weight and arguably Dawson and Hopkins are better than Pavlik and Williams.

Martinez definitely deserves it for now though. I guess it depends how good Pascal looks against Bernard.

If he beats Hopkins, then its tight between him and Martinez.

Juan Manuel Lopez is a bit back from that.

Giovanni Segura has a good shout at it: 4 stoppage victories this year, including the big one away in Puerto Rico over Ivan Calderon.

He'd have to Lacy Hopkins and stop him to be alongside Martinez for me.

A win and he's probably in the top 3.... ahead of Pacquiao, Mayweather etc.
