Pascal vs Diaconu rd by rd

Good fight but certainly not a fight of the year. Glad for Pascal, he's getting better in each fight. He does a lot of mistakes but he does not pay for them right now.

 

I don't think it was FOTY either but I think it's in the top 3 or potentially at worst top 5.

 

Diaconu really dissappointed me this fight, I just don't know what the guy was thinking.

He's smaller, needs to be on the inside, but he keeps waiting in the center of the ring for a counter punch (which doesn't usually land). Every time he got Pascal near the ropes or corner, he should have gone for a combo on him, or just one good shot.

Pascal did quite well, even though I hated the holding every time Diaconu came in. Although I think Diaconu could have broken the hold, or just kept puching most of the time instead of waiting of the ref to break it.

It was an okay fight, but I think Diaconu looked sub par compared to his other fights. He damn well knew he was losing by the 9th round, but STILL kept waiting and not throwing punches.

The best he had was a close KD in the 5th.

At most, I give Diaconu 5 rounds that fight. Sad to see him lose, but the better man won the fight.

 

Pascal put on a clinic. Maybe we see him face the Dawson-Johnson winner. :think

 

Depending on how long it takes Pascal to recover from this fight (and whenever Johnson-Dawson II takes place) HBO would be stupid to not set up some sort of doubleheader with those two.

 

Whatever man he just showed me so much in in this fight its not even funny. The fact that he was able to pull that **** against a fighter with the amateur and professional pettagree as Diaconu should let everyone know its going to take someone special to exploit him for that. And even if he meats that person he definitely showed enough durability and mental poise to not get ragged when he was in trouble.

He's really matured from the guy that was looking like dog **** against Brian Narman. His fans should be proud. **** the Fans of Froch should be proud too.

Pascal made the fight. Once he established the lead he could have just gotten cute and started dancing around, but he kept diving in there making the action. Diaconu showed his limits in this fight.

I picked Pascal going in though because Diaconu's 2 biggest wins were not that impressive. Hoye was a tall freak with a very weak chin and has been exposed since. Henry is even more unpolished than Diaconu is, and he kept the scores close.
