No disrespect but Olusegun seems quite content with fighting journeyman and turning down fights with Witter than fighting someone any decent or someone with prospects like McCloskey although it is a fight i would like to see.
Agreed, but you know...Olu rates Olusegun highly and has big plans for him. It's a shame they aren't put into action.
He is on the undercard of Munroe vs Martinez II in Barnsley, so I will get my ass there and give a bit of feedback
Put it this way he dealt with Lynes the right way and it creates interesting possibilities for the future. I would like to see him against David Barnes as well.
This is a title defence of the Commonwealth title. The title eliminator with Witter is be had by mid year though Witter is trying to get out of it claiming he should be able to fight Tim Bradley straight away. Why does he not want the title eliminator as if he won(which he won't) he will get a guaranteed shot at the champion. They tried to get us to fight on a week and a half notice. We were keen and asked them to pay a certain amount and they never came back lying that we turned down the fight. Now the WBC have ordered the fight as an official eliminator between the number 2 and 3 contender they have gone silent. They can run but they cannot hide.
Witter probably believes he has bigger fish to fry. He is woefully inactive though - needs to fight much more often than he does. Olusegun would certainly have been a better opponent than the Argentinian patsy he faced.
And I guarantee he'll get a big fight before Olusegun :deal Wasn't Witter v Devon Alexander being discussed anyone??
The WBC have ordered Bradley to fight Alexander and Ajose to fight Witter. The winner(that is Ajose) of Ajose versus Witter becomes the mandatory for the winner of Bradley versus Alexander.
I thought Bradley was fighting Holt, with Witter to face Alexander..... Olusegun left out in the cold......
If Bradley does not fight Alexander then he will most likely be stripped of his title so our eliminator could be for the vacant title or we become the mandatory. In any event it is so close that I can smell it. I really don't care which of the 3 we face as they are all beatable
I thought the WBC had granted Bradley and exemption, so long as the winner fought the winner of the interim matchup between Witter and Alexander..... These bloody alphabets!! To be honest, I can neither agree nor disagree with you as to whether your man can beat the three aforementioned fighters, because I haven't seen him tested by an opponent of the appropriate standard - as I am sure you can appreciate. I will be there on 27th Feb though, so good luck :good
