Whether he's blowing smoke or not, Smith runs hot and cold in the ring.

Hot, and he could burn Quigley. :nod

The fact it was even close enough that it could have been awarded to Bendall is worrying enough. For the type of talent and aspirations Smith is supposed to have he shouldn't be struggling with an average domestic fighter.

No delusions with Smith. Ok, he has not always shown what capable of, but beats quigley 8 days a week. Quigley very fortunate to get the shot at the tittle, and will lose it very quickly

Lets be serious mate, he's a FW fighter. More then likely he'll pick up a vacant title or a newly won formerly vacant title. :good

    This is true. :deal

Wasn't Paul supposed to have generated some of the highest pounds of force using whatever those SPARQ metrics they had going on in the third season of Contender were?

Then he squeaks by David Banks. :yep

On the other hand, Cleverly isn't exactly a smasher and got the job done against the soft-middled Quigley.

IIRC Smith also fought on the Enzo-Haye card after the O2 bars had shut and the place was pretty much full (inbetween the Mitchell-Johansen fight and the main event).

not true. it was the fight before Mitchell and the bars shut half way through, so during the last few rounds people were still filtering through.

I may be wrong with the running order (it was a long night at the O2) but either way he's fought in front of 10,000-20,000 people.

Most boxers can punch with decent power. I'd say its very hard to tell the difference between one and another. Surely he doesn't hit as hard with the left hook as Bingham.

    True Terry.

Ensleys left hook was just crazy. There seems to be problems with Smiths inconsistancy. Tonight should be fun. You going?
