lol what a joke, Paul Smith should be fighting guys like Fielding but apparently he's above that.

 

Absolutely ridiculous, no doubt about it.

 

Should have been fighting British level after his Abraham fights. He's had a couple of very good battles at British level and he'd have a hell of a lot more respect fighting there again and would possibly have earned another crack. Now he's been too inactive at his age to even be a force at British level probably. Quite a waste. It's just stupid the way he just hangs around waiting for a totally undeserved shot and pay day.

 

After reading the thread title I thought you were going to say Paul Smith is rated 5th out of the 4 Smith brothers.....

Scouser so I'll always support him when he fights and comes across as a nice bloke but ........ some smw's must be fu***** livid.
Arthur Abraham - Andre ward - offered Chavez jnr now ?????? people a lot more deserving in my opinion.

 

Smith isn't going to say no and if he can stick around for fights against a big name which bring more coin to the table instead of getting bust up in a domestic fight for less he's going to.

But **** me, it is a joke. Last 3 wins against journeyman, credit where it's due he gave Abraham a run for his money in the 1st fight but that was 3 years ago. No stand out class wins on his record.

Its pretty clear whats going on..

Smith when he was a nobody got invited to do a sky sports interview ...smith thought 13:00 meant 1.30 am ....he turns up at sky hq ..the lights are off except one light on the top floor...carm down thinks paul..in typical scouse fashion he decides to break in so hes not late for his interview...so he does that and catches a lift to the top floor...he turns the door knob and marches straight in...he sees adam smith bumming andre ward who is bumming eddie hearn who is bumming arthur abraham who is bumming bernd boente who is wanking off over a koogie bear photo....smith says " al-right im here for me interview like...if its alright" in his scouser twang...eddie hearn shouts out " close that fkking door and pretend u didnt see this and u will be alright son"...even the fat dumbbass smith knows its a non brainer.....

(Ps the above is an attempt at humour with no basis on real persons or events .for the record smith imo is a good fighter and coukd win a world title if he got in his best shape.decent pundit too)

I'm sure Paul Smith would be the first to say Boxing is a hard sport which it is. But for Paul to be fighting for a world title again is a farce, there is no way Paul Smith should be ranked as high as he is. He has not only lost the important fights but has also been very inactive. Someone is missing out on a world title opportunity who has earned their shot, PAUL SMITH HAS NOT!. The rankings are a sham, it just shows corruption is rife in Boxing and it just taints the sport. Paul Smith should feel ashamed of himself, looking smug on Sky stating 'the title fight is almost over the line', Paul has been gifted a title shot and should be ashamed of himself, how can you be on a Boxing panel and claim to have an unbiased view and be gifted a title shot and know you have not earned it. And now the WBA, they have shown yet again that they are no more than a cowboy outfit that moves rankings around to suit their own agenda. I support Boxing and British fighters, but there are times when i hate both and this is one of those times. RANT OVER!

 

The worst thing about this is that I'm not even shocked. Never beaten a top 25 opponent in his life and yet about to get ANOTHER crack at a title

 

He's a name because he's boxed Abraham, Ward, Groves, Degale people use him as a warm up fight (ward) an easy voluntary def (AA) or a stepping stone to bigger and better things (GG and JDG).

He's a steady boxer but he keeps getting good fights thrown at him and imo loads more that deserve a chance but he's a name and has Eddie doing wonders for him

 

He's gonna end up getting seriously hurt
