Five years ago I woulda' thought this very same thing. But now? Long lay off for Winky and he's not gettin' any younger, while PW is young and hungry and still improving his game. Winky won't be KO'd , but I gotta' go w/PW by UD in this one.

That statement aside, Jsimps (who seems to have an inside track) said that Pavlik was preparing to fight him before he withdrew from that fight. Boo has stated above why it was probably best that fight not happen for PW at this point in his career, but I was posting this to counter a comment someone else made. It was a 'tad' over the top.:D

Winky hasnt fought in over a year. Will be coming down in weight at an advanced age (never an easy thing to do). Fighting a guy who is faster, longer, stronger, busier, a better mover, a harder puncher, etc.

It kills me to say this, but he is getting stopped in this one.

so were going to believe some random poster... over kelly pavlik?

kelly pavlik said it in a documented interview .. one of the other boxing websites.. stating that it would be worthless for him to fight williams....

i remember reading it... i was ecstatic because when the fight was originally announced i was dying for it to happen.. and i was happy to hear that the fight ACTUALLY has the potential to be made... pavlik just wasnt feeling it at the time... so hopefully paul can do what it takes to make pavlik feel it

Most elite boxers will fight anyone at any time until they are capable of making huge pay days while selecting their opponents... I believe Paul Williams won't be any different if he ever gets to that stage !
