Some of you seem to be missing the point. Not a surprise. Honestly, though, just because he's the most avoided doesn't mean he would be beating the best at 147. I don't buy he does.

He would be trouble for ANY 147 fighter. Would he beat all of the best at 147. Probably not. would he have a chance? Definetly.

    Martinez lost the fight.

Pierre Benoist is a true criminal judge of the worst kind.

Yeah but who at 160 and 154 are great? Both Williams and Martinez are at the top. Williams is so much bigger than everyone at 147 that his mere size is a problem.

you mean Williams lost the fight right?

Remember, Williams was the black guy, so there is no way he could have won fair and square.

You're probably right in regards to 154-160. As for 147, I don't think his physical advantages get him past with the elites in that division. That's the best division in boxing. Some might think he gets Mosley as physical advantages bother him (Forrest) but that won't work because Paul doesn't fight anything like him. Style-wise it is totally different. Honestly, the elites beat him I might even consider Pac finding a way to beat him. Would he pose problems? Yes, though.

bingo! as i stated in another thread i think he is avoided @ 147 not b/c of fear of losing but b/c of the extra headache he would bring in the ring with his size and huge output of punches , they'll just take a more evenly or sorta even (no names lol) matched fight with a huge purse. which sucks for boxing fans.

Williams is a simple pressure fighter who uses height, reach, and work rate to overwhelm smaller opponents. The first time he faced world class opposition above 147, he struggled, and got beat up along the way. That does not surprise me.

If yesterdays fight proved anything, especially too myself, PW has no BUSINESS at 168 much less 160. I heard all this talk before yesterday about future PW vs Chad Dawson, PW vs AA, PW vs Nard etc. I think there won't be any of that anymore. PW should concentrate 147 and 154, MANY fights to be made in my opinion. And if he really wants to move up to 160 maybe a PW vs Korobov or Gevor fight would be intriguing.

Paul Williams is the Black version of Margarito... without the chin.

Basically a big guy who has the discipline to cut down to fight in divisions where his physical attributes win fights. Add in the work rate that discipline allows and you have a hard to beat monster.

Both guys are fun to watch, but I never knew what was the big deal with either of them.

agree with most of what u say, but gotta drop the hammer on this one. the fighter on your avatar was a great fighter, but not the most technically savvy. as neither is arthur abraham, yet i believe both abraham and williams are elite fighters. i think, as martinez stated before the fight, he would use paul's advantages against him. and martinez did capitalize on it, but couldn't follow through. the pace was a hellacious one. and that's because martinez does marathons on the side and williams is a guy who avgs over 1000 punches per fight.

as for williams chances vs. pac, mosley, floyd, it just depends what kind of fight williams fights. in the center of the ring, no one can outbox mayweather. on the ropes or when he rarely comes forward are the only times anybody might have a chance with floyd, but as long as they don't fight his fight. one thing i've noticed paul is quick in letting his hands go, but slow at bringing them back. not the best defense, but his offense is tremendous.

Next time, when trying to be witty, or even insulting, be innovative, not imitative.

It really is weird what hang ups certain people have.

Farmboxer can't stand black fighters, you can't signatures.
