Big fights? There were big fights at 147 but none of the top guys fought him there with the exception of Margo. If he beats Lara those guys you listed with the exception of Cintron will all duck him as well.

How is he gonna establish a legacy at 154?? Thats a weight class thats gonna blow up. Too many big hitters.

The problem with PW is he decided to go the macho route and make a legacy fighting stupid but it seems his chin is already cracked. Now he either learns to box and use his attributes or gets KTFO every time he steps up.

    Im guessing its the latter.

yeah people tend to forget these things when criticizing a boxer for wanting to retire early and with good health to be able to enjoy the rest of their lives

none of the posters here probably have been in the ring at a high professional level so they dont know what that those to a persons body especially their brains

he has made good money he should retire sooner rather then later.. miguel cotto said he was going to retire by age 30 and he's still fighting... you cant fall in love with the money the fame and all the attention or you'll end up like ali

Williams was insisting on big fights w/o really being known, a big name, a draw, or even RANKED by the other orgs. That's the WBO belt for you. He should have done what Margarito did. Drop it fight for another title.

Not to mention, it's not realy anyone's fault that the top guys at 147 were tied up with other fighters.

Yeah, he can want big names all day long. But aside from beating Margarito, and winnig a rematch to Quintana, why was ANYONE obligated to face him? Seriously. Guys pay their dues, beat a bunch of top contenders. Williams barely did that. Instead he just called out top names.

Funy thing, what happened when Angula called him out? Said he was TOO UNKNOWN. Now that is irony!!

I hope WIlliams rebounds and comes back to own 154. It's there for him to take.

But as far as fighters ducking him? Not really. He wasn't ranked by any other ORG, and didn't really have the wins to command anything.

It takes more then just being a heavy hitter to be successful. And it's not like he's washed up. If he is, his next fight should tell us.

You can't tell me he'd be a major underdog against Cotto, Mayorga, Alvarez, Wolak, or Bundrage.

Yeah, one time getting KO'd means that will be the norm from now on. Good call.

I think his confident is destroyed. This is coming from the same dude that was calling the then "avoided" beast Margarito.
