My ignore list was up over 70 posters. I recently decided that was a bit extreme, so I cut it down to about 12 proven idiots. I'm already back up to about 30 names. I'm old. I ain't got time to waste on fools.
O.k., let me get this straight, Pirog beats an overhyped fighter in Jacobs (according to many here on ESB), and all of the sudden he's knocking out a proven talent like Paul Williams? Doesn't compute.
Proven talent was schooled by CArlos Quintana. Proven talent ****ing lost To SErgio martinez who did not even have time to train agains him. Proven talent was losing the short bout against Kermit Cintron and was rocked big time there too. Paul was Seriously hurt and knocked down against Light Punching Sergio Martinez. So stfu with that **** he is like some God. Only legit win at mw Williams gos is over the hill feather fisted ***** called Winky Wright. Pirog will Man handle this Starvin Marvin beat him like little hoe.
First of all, that Quintana fight was how many years ago? How many fights ago? And there was a Quintana rematch. Funny you don't mention that. Second of all, he didn't lose against Martinez. He won the fight. It was close, and many people think it should have gone to Martinez, but the fact remains that every objective viewer knows that it was a close fight that could have gone either way. The same Sergio who became MW Champ. And as far as SM being light-punching? Well... he sure stunned a 179-pound Pavlik in his last fight. Third, no one said he was a God. He didn't look his best in his last two fights, but look at his level of competition. Fourth, you are the only jackass around here who thinks Winky Wright is a little *****. Any version of him would whip Pirog at this stage of his career. And Winky shits on anyone on Pirog's resume. Pirog isn't the king of the world because he won a fight aginst a 23-year-old prospect. Calm down you emotional little *****.:|
I love the discussion going on in this thread, as if there's any doubt that Pirog disposes of Williams inside of five rounds, the trolling needs to stop.
Ill be taking Pirog in this one too. Pirog is an accurate and hard puncher, and he will be landing on Williams who isnt hard to find, i see Williams going down in this one. Pirog close decision based on 1 or 2 knockdowns. Everyone is getting so up in arms that Pirog is being picked over some established fighters... well, thats boxing. There will always be people who think just because a fighter is fresh, unexpeirienced, and whatever, that he cant beat the guys that have been around for awhile. And there will be others who think they can. Whats good about this is we can find out hopefully within the next two years whos right or wrong. I wouldnt normally rate a fighter without having done much this high in my estimation, but i really like what i saw from him. I really think 160 is his to rule right now if he can get the fights. Of course, i may be totally wrong and he winds up getting tooled and schooled by the vets..... we will see.
Right now, I still favor Williams. I do like what I've seen from Pirog. I have no doubts he'd give Williams a tough fight, but I'd like to see a buit more from him.
