Is one win a streak? He won his last fight and lost the one just before it. Cool geometry.

He technically lost the one just before it. Have you seen it?

He got robbed. Alvarez never deserved the belt.

It's a very good comeback fight for P. Willy and I don't mind seeing it on HBO as part of a double or triple header. I don't know why people are getting their panties in a bunch over it because I highly doubt it'll be the main headliner.

Even if it is, it's probably not going to be the only fight.

They'll probably have a decent undercard. But even if somehow there wasn't, I'd still watch. It's not Williams Martinez but it should be a very good fight that Williams is expected to win but not easily.

Williams is comming off of a Brutal knock out loss, and just prior he was in an all out war in which he was also decked, Ishida is comming off of a huge upset win, this could be very bad for Williams as Ishida if anything in his mind he can beat a south paw by way of knock out...
    I like Ishida here...

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haYZx4Tjr_k[/ame] he has skill, it will be tough like the Cintron fight was.

Williams should win, but he has to win by technical skill.

Who said Martinez was on a streak when he knocked out Williams?

IntentionalButt, no, I didn't see the fight. I'll take your word for it that he was robbed.

I agree. Ishida and Martinez are both on practical streaks (the Cintron fight wasn't a draw either), but not technical ones.

He beat Cintron no doubt, I dont think this is the right type of comeback fight you want to have for a guy like Paul who was just ICED I mean seriously that mother ****er was out as soon as the shot landed...
I use to think Mercer vs Morrison was the most brutal knock out I have seen but after seeing this wow its hard to even look back at that...

maybe Rico Ramos vs. Akifumi Shimoda as a co-feature. I know it was discussed at one point.

Yeah, maybe on Friday Night Fights, but you'd expect more from a network with the deepest pockets in the business. Williams-Ishida, Shimoda-Ramos (the proposed co-feature) is very poor matchmaking and a good reason why Showtime has been gaining ground on HBO the past few years, with only a fraction of their budget. And I highly doubt a win over Nobuhiro Ishida is gonna get Paul Williams any closer to Mayweather or Pacquiao.

I like this fight very much. im just glad they aren't putting Ishida in with a title holder right away because he ko'd a hypejob. this is a good fight to see where both fighters are...if one is the real deal or if the other is washed up. agreed that this shouldn't be a hbo main event but still a good fight.
