Roberto Duran would counter Williams to death with his sneaky right hand, and have a field day with Williams long, lanky frame when on the inside. I'll give it to Williams, he has so much heart and will, he'll be getting stunned fairly often but he has no ability to change up strategy...he'll get stopped somewhere around the 8th. Too predictable for someone with the ring IQ of Duran; feints, lead right hand, and body work should get the job done.
Even though I like Paul, I completely agree. And I think this thread just proves it. Duran would murder Paul Williams. Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns would murder Paul Williams. The title-reigning version of Cuevas would murder Paul Williams. Benitez would embarrass him without the murder, probably.
Because Williams has a tremendously powerful, laser accurate and quick right-hand like Hearns does, right? And similar technical skills including his jab and range control? They are nothing alike ffs. And no, he can't. Duran in 9 rounds at most at '47.
