All the more reason for Arum to be begging Goosen to put Williams in with Cotto in early 2009. Do you think that will happen?

I would pick Williams to beat Cotto. I don't think Williams was prepared for Quintana at all the first time around. He didn't even spar southpaws.

The only two guys I'd pick to beat Williams at 147 are Cintron and Margarito.

The guy claimed Cotto would embarress Williams. Many say it would be an easy fight for Cotto. If that's the case, then there's no reason for Arum not to make the fight in early 2009. The only reason not to take the fight is if they believe Cotto has a legit chance of losing; thus ruining the proposed rematch between Cotto and Margo.

Dude....what fans say on this board is meaningless 99% of the time. Arum isn't going to make that fight for some over zealous fanboys when he already has plans for a rematch.

Again with the Cintron talk. I can't see him beating Williams. I agree that Margo can beat him. I also think Clottey can take him as well.

I know that Lance. I'm trying to get him to realize why what he said makes no sense.

Well, actually that doesn't prove he doesn't make sense. Cotto very well may beat the living **** outta Williams if they ever fight. That doesn't mean just because Arum isn't making that fight right away it makes no sense. Cotto and Margarito are just taking a little time off anyway.

Before the Cotto vs. Margarito fight I think most people here believed Cotto would beat him. I think it's a 50-50 fight. But that also depends on how well Cotto comes back. One thing to point out, Williams does NOT cover his body the way Margarito does. As long as Williams can make 147, I do think we'll eventually see this.

Anyone can get beatdown in any fight. However, if there was a legit chance of Cotto beating down Williams, Arum would make the fight. Before the Williams vs. Margo fight, Arum talked about possibly matching Williams with Cotto if Williams won in an exciting fight. Williams did just that and Arum decided to make a truce with Hoya rather than exploring that fight. If the people closest to Cotto are not too keen on putting Cotto in there with Williams, that should tell you something. As far as taking time off, why not fight in March? That's plenty of time. Of course, we both know the answer to this. Williams is too big of a threat. Arum wants to make Cotto/Margo II. He's not going to risk that by putting Cotto in there with Williams

Again, if Top Rank thought that this was a legit weakness that Cotto could expose, they would have made the fight already. If Top Rank decides not to put Cotto in with Williams, that's fine. However, it's ridiculous to assume Williams is an easy fight for Cotto. A guy that big, that active, and with that much power is in no way an easy fight for Cotto. Cotto is all of 5 '6. Fighting a skilled , 6 '3 fighter is not ideal for him.

Of course it won't be made, Cotto's plans are already determined and publicly mentioned. Same for Margarito who is linked with Cotto and neither of them have Williams in plan for their next two fights.
