Yea I was just considering them as more beatable guys than Bradley and his mouth getting him a fight with someone like Holt even if he didnt deserve the fight. Because it would sell in AC or NYC.

    This.

I mean for ****s sakes, if a young fighter (titlist no less) loses to the clear number 1 in his division, then why the **** should his future in the sport be questioned.

He is still a big name. He is a good boxer, may well pick up a belt in the future, beat some decent contenders, if not the very best fighters. And he can still make a lot of money in boxing.

    ****ing dumbass thread.

Because he has no power and is constantly breaking his right hand. His most notable performance is a loss and his best wins are against 2nd tier fighters. He also has a boring style that's not going to attract the big networks.

He's not a big name and he's not that good of a boxer. Unless another B level fighter gets handed a belt, Paulie is going to be hard pressed to win another title.

Paulie is already 27;as he further ages his mobility will likewise diminish , as willhis reflexes.
In these conditions , how is he going to keep away young and comers one armed as he is ?

Yesterday was not a contest, it was an execution.
Why should the public pay to watch him run or hold without any intention of imposing his will on the other guy ?

He better quits before he gets banged for real.

The Hatton defeat puts the writting on the wall ( and i don't care how much money he can still win, he will earn it with his brain cells dying)

    I'd say false.

I enjoy watching him get pummeled for extended periods of time.

If it were up to me, he'd have rematches with Cotto and Hatton for the rest of his career. I'd watch.

Depends on the context of future. Can he beat the elite guys? No. Can he make a living? Yes.

After being beaten decisivly by Hatton and with virtually no power he's not a threat to anyone in the sport. Lampley said it best last night when he said (paraphrasing here) "It was only a matter of time before Paulie ran into someone that was stonger than he was". I see Paulie slowly fading away from this point forward. I love flashy fighters but fighters whom I know are going to take the fight the distance bore me to death. What's exciting about boxing is that anything can happen in any fight but that's just not true with Paulie, you know it's a distance fight as soon as you here his name. I think once he's gets gets put on his back and is KO'd the media will lose interest.

He has a big name but i'm talking about overall greatness.
Every boxer wants to be the number one in his division or even the p4p. But do you see that ever coming for paulie?
    I say it's a big no-no!
You see him have brittle hands, what would a brittle hand do to change the course of the fight for his own favor? Nothing, because any elite fighter won't be afraid to trade leather with him.
They're just going to eat paulie's punches, stagger him and make him lose his position, and then take the phase of the fight.
All you need to do against paulie if you have the skill, is cut the ring and find out how to slip your punches to him, so would you get worried if you'll ever get hit? Hell nah, and that fact alone gives a smirk to any class-a brawler or a "boxer-puncher" when they're face to face to him.
You all think i'm unremorseful for paulie but that is not the case, i'm just being realistic on to how much would he accomplish on this sport of boxing particulary these 140pnd division.
Heck, if he even faces pac, pac would gladly trade his face to paulie for his own left straight!
And pac being so aggresive, he would just take the phase of the fight gradually.
That being the case, i still stand on my belief that this boy who had a mouth that can't match performance won't do well if there is an a-class elite level in his division.
Best for him to do is to just stay away from the big guns in any division he goes to coz the cotto-hatton scenario is a blue print bound to happen over and over again.
If that's what you're expecting action as it should be then maybe you should shift to mexican teledramas.
Probably malignaggi, because of his good looks and in-ring gimmicks, really fits well in there. It's a natural curse for him, there's no other point, just quit. Even so, he has so many fall backs to go to, like what a certain poster on this thread stated.
What do you think my dear esb fellow posters? :think

Malignaggi would be back ... he was on the biggest stage of his life, that was even bigger than the Cotto fight. He underestimated Ricky Hatton quite a bit.

He can still make his mark on the 140 division ... he's the man to beat since Ricky Hatton might be going back up to welterweight.
