GGG won at least 3 of those, if not all 4, in the first fight.....Got given 6 rounds.

Therefore, either GGG was robbed first fight.....
Or GGG was robbed the first fight.

"Ok so if Canelo clearly won 3 of the 4 scoring criteria
    Defense
    Ring Generalship
    Effective agression

Only thing left is clean punching....."

    Fight 1

    Defense

GGG outlanded Canelo, therefore GGG's defence was superior as he was harder to hit.

Don't give me this rubblish where Throwing less = Better defence.

    GGG wins

    Ring Generalship

Canelo was constantly pushed back onto the ropes and was on the back foot.

    GGG wins

    Effective Aggression

Again, don't give me Less aggression = 'More effective aggression".

Canelo was pushed back to the ropes multiple times, the guy wasn't even being aggressive.

    GGG wins

    Clean Punching

A counter puncher will always look more flashy when he's punching.

However, he was outlanded significantly by GGG.

Although it's pretty conclusive, i'll give this a draw and be favourable to Canelo.

    Draw/GGG win

    So.....

    GGG wins 4-1 or 3-1.

A convincing victory, which leaves no need for a rematch.

This is key- even if you disagree with a decision doesn't make it a robbery.
Robbery is what happened to Jones in Olympics.

I also think GGG deserved the nod, but I concede that from a different perspective I can see how someone could make the case for Canelo-
Speaking to platitiudes and ideals- It would have been nice to have seen the close rounds go to GGG because of the recent Clen charges against Canelo, but that isn't "fair", its just another type of bias.

IMO GGG deserved the win, but he didn't convince the three most important people ringside. No robbery, I just think the judges got it wrong.

I just said that GGG won the first fight imo.

And the rematch did happen we cant just pretend it didnt.

GGG had alot of bad breaks in his career, had he been managed better things would have gone different.
But it was his choice to stay with that obscure promotional team for the first half of his career.
Had he signed with Arum, different story.
Same with Beterbiev and all of those Cubans whos careers are being wasted

Paulie is a giant buffoon when it comes to scoring fights.

Basically according to him whoever fights off the backfoot should win the round. No matter anything else.

I'm speaking on the totality of his commentary career. I even remember watching Broner Maidana and then watching him score the fight for Broner live. Thinking my God.....

Surely Canelo was the hometown draw but GGG is/was the champion with all the belts and he was the one defending those belts. I scored it for GGG but if it was tight, I believe it should go to the champion of the time.

It was GGG 9-3/8-4. I've watched it 3 times and cannot see how Canelo gets the nod. It just isn't there.

he also thought Ward beat Kovalev in the first one. so you can't always have your cake and eat it too. Only I can because I agree with him on GGG vs Canelo and Ward vs Kovalev I :)
