Paulie's a tough SOB. He looks like a *** but he's pretty damn tough. I think Hatton's gonna have his hands full but I look for Hatton to earn a points victory in a VERY CLOSE and VERY CONTROVERSIAL decision. Scoring this fight will be similar to scoring a Marquez/Pacquiao fight. If you like the agressive bullying and telltale blows then Hatton will win every close round on your scorecard. If you like the slick defense and sharp flurries then Malignaggi will get the nod.
It doesn't necessarily work that way. Yes Paulie has a tough chin, but Hatton was never a "Chin Checker". He's a "Body Snatcher", a Mike McCallum style of fighting. Paulie's tough but I don't think his body is as tough as his chin. I see Paulie going down from a lethal punch to the gut...
I think that Hatton is a better puncher than Cotto and his mauling style will work to his advantage against Paulie. I hope it's a small ring :good
Malignaggi lost against Ngoudjo and N'dou but he was still given the W by the judges in both cases. Malignaggi fans should be the last to complain about robberies.
He fought to a draw with Ngoudjo (by Al Bernstein's card, and mine - and I was rooting for Ngoudjo). He beat N'dou twice, the first time by a mile and the second time close but clear.
Hatton will try to box Paulie for 3 - 4 rounds and if its close Hatton will go back to his slugging ways Hatton is not a discilpined 12 round fighter, if Pauli had some pop then Malig by KO, frankly all Hatton has to do is keep the fight close and he'll get the jedges scorecards
it was certainly the case against collazo, hatton got the win because hbo had invested time and money in him
he is certainly a lesser puncher than none weight drained 147 cotto, i wouldn't say the same at 140 thougth.
watched that fight last night. the result was fair enough. it was on a don king card against a don king fighter with 3 american judges .bit too much going against it for it to be a fix IMO.
