"Bro...you're already wearing pink. Don't cry. Don't you cry. This is an international broadcast, FFS. You are the WBO champion. WBO champions do not cry. Comport yourself like a Kameda, damn it. Act petulant and thuggish, not weepy!" - what Koki ought to be saying right now. http://i42.tinypic.com/14abk1l.jpg ...but me, IB, well, I'm a more progressive-minded live-and-let type. I say, Tomoki, go ahead - Ishe the hell out to your heart's content.
Yeah. A shutout would have been a sign of corruption (as would have 119-109; Ambunda did have two clear) and closer than 116-112 would have been a sign of incompetence (as Kameda took eight clearly, with two swing). That range perfectly represents the fair & reasonable possibilities.
I'd like to watch this again some time and review those no-calls on the knockdowns. They certainly weren't concussive or anything, nor indicative of Kameda possessing massive power or Ambunda having shaky resistance - they were clearly balance issues/flash knockdowns - but they did both seem like bungled calls. Not that it mattered on paper (would've simply added insult to injury for Ambunda stretching it to 118-108, 116-110, 117-109) but to sate my curiosity...and help me come to a determination on Raul Caiz Sr.' performance these days.
Any word from the undercard? Boxrec hasn't updated it yet. Sonny Boy Jaro fought a tough journeyman (only stopped once in 31 bouts) in his rebound homecoming effort. Fredirex Rodriguez and Marlon Tapales - who is pretty good, and seemed to get shafted in his WBC Silver 115lb tilt with David Sanchez - fought in the co-main event for the vacant Asia Pacific 118lb title.
F*ck me, I missed it. Thought it was a bit earlier, woke up earlier, dazed off. And now I missed it. :| I'll have to find a video tonight. History has been made! War TOMOKI!!!!! :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy
i know he isnt fighting koki but do you give him a shot agianst yamanaka best (opinion) 118 in the world
Oh ****! Well, stick a fork in Sonny Boy - that is three in a row he dropped against weaker and weaker opposition. Quite a hard fall considering just over a year ago he was making improbable cameos on p4p lists in light of dethroning Pong.
Maron Tapales schooled Fredirex Rodriguez, from the sound of it. http://philboxing.com/news/pix/tapales-rodriguez.fn.01.330w.jpg Tapales took a wide UD. Rodriguez was hurt in the 1st and dropped about midway through. As for Jaro, it seems he simply gassed after just a few rounds. Yeah...fork stuck in.
Valero has had an odd career, won 1 his first 15 something, since then he's lost 1 of 15 something, amazing run
Sonny Boy is now thinking about retirement. He says he still wants to keep fighting but if its just going to be losses from now on, then maybe he should retire.
