I dont hate Dawson, but I do believe that a guy like Pavlik would apply enough effective pressure, combined with KO power, to beat him.
I trusted Ledermans' scoring, or the other announcers over those braindead scoring judges......they were clueless
As I told KG, I'd defend Dawson in the same situation. I'm not entirely sold on dawson as THE REAL DEAL:nono No doubt he's among the top 5 for sure and might even win the crown, but I believe his chin is far from granite. He's slick but will he fold under questioning??????
Ive watched lots of fights in my life, and i think that it was one of those fights where it depends what you like in scoring. Taylor was controlling with his jab, and good flurries off the ropes, Pavlik was sticking him with the harder straight right. It was a close fight, anyone that acts like Taylor was getting whitewashed is a true hugger.

Pavlik is, if anything, under-rated. Look at the facts. At 25 years of age he beat the lineal champ at 160, but he has never been past round 9. His last 6 opponents had a combined 163 fights with 116 KO's. Of his last 6 opponents 5 of them had never been knocked out before, but when Pavlik put the hammer down on them, it was OVER. Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik has climbed in the professional prize fighting ring 32 times, and 29 times score cards were irrelevant. The last guy who went the distance with Pavlik (November 2004) never fought again! Not bad for a 25 year old kid who is probably 2 to 3 years away from his peak! You can say what you want about his defense, but when did you ever see him with his face all ****ed up? Answer; never. A few cuts and bruise, but never anything serious. He does not slip many punches. His style is to catch them on his gloves and arms. Watch close. his defense is a lot better than people give him credit for. I have watched Pavlik/Taylor 6 times. Each time I've come out with a slightly different score. AT BEST Taylor was 1 point ahead going into the 7th round. To say Taylor won every round is ludicrous. That really does not make a hill of **** anyway. Think back to one Danny "Little Red" Lopez. He used to go down nearly every fight, but he successfully defended his WBC Featherweight title 9 times in just over 4 years, and it took no less a fighter than Salvador Sanchez to knock the king off his throne. When Pavlik finally loses his zero it will be a similar story. He will find himself in the ring with a really slick boxer who has enough power to make Kelly respect him. However, that ain't nobody who is at 160 today: There is no Salvador Sanchez or SRL type fighter in Kelly's discernible future. Based on what Kelly has said rather than other peoples bull**** and speculation, we can expect him to become the unified champ at 160 over the next couple years. Unless of course Sturm keeps his title by refusing to fight Kelly. When Pavlik moves to 168, which seems inevitable, he will be just as much of a monster as he is now, and he will very quickly acquire a major title. If current trends continue, and I believe they will, he will not lose until he hits 175 at around age 30. Take that to the ****ing bank! Boo

He asked me and honestly, I spaced on it. Right now I am involved in that WeBL (Boxing league) that Flatlander invited me to, and that takes up alot of time along with my Fantasy Football league.
