See, the problem here is they're choosing the wrong sponsors for Kelly's fights. If they want Kelly to show they've just gotta have Tecate or Budweiser or la cerveza mas fina, Corona, as the sponsors and Kelly'll be there in a jiffy. Promise.
a Steward/Pavlik team is a combination you will never see. Kelly has made a lot of mistakes, but THANK GOD he has never made one that disastrous!
How do you feel about all the people saying he should leave Jack? (me, it doesn't sound like a bad idea he AND Jack get out of Y-Town for a while). If he was to use another trainer, who would you suggest? (me, ???)
Nazim Richardson is the only trainer besides Leow who ever said anything about Pavlik that made sense. In some random interview a few years ago the reporter asked Richardson what he would change. Richardson said, "Not much. Just tighten up his defense and clean up his footwork, but not much." When people start talking about Manny, I know those people have not followed Pavlik's career much, if at all. I'd rather see KP retire than Watch Steward turn him into a jab and grab bore fest.
Interesting. Don't believe I saw that Richardson interview. The game Pavlik brought to the ring on his rise to the MW Championship was a ****in' thing of beauty. I get the feeling a lot of these fans these days didn't really see that Pavlik. Sure I felt kind'a kicked in the nuts with that recent episode (not to mention a lot of **** since about the Lockett fight), but I'll get in line again if he'll give it a serious go. :yep
Nothing really, haha. It's just it was all down hill from there. :!: A few things have come to light, is about all I'll say about that. Kelly still young enough to kick plenty of ass.
The truth is most posters on ESB never saw Pavlik before the Miranda fight. The term "one dimensional" is a dead give away. You can't watch Pavlik fight Zuniga and McKart and come to the conclusion that KP was "one dimensional."
:deal It's frustrating as a mother ****er too...c It is nice to see Dunkin seems to be genuinely excited for the first time in a while that he feels he's talkin' to the "old Pavlik" again.
I really liked the inside game KP showed in the Zuniga fight- that was a tough, gritty fight and showed he was more than a 1-2 outboxer people pegged him as. When Pavlik was a hungry contender on the way up, he was just improving every fight. I'd love to think Kelly's got that fire back in him, but it's tough to have much faith that that's the case until I actually see it manifest itself in the ring. Who knows? People writing him off put a chip on his shoulder to perform before, maybe it'll happen again. While I wouldn't put money on it, stranger things have happened...
