In spite of what some people thought about the fight, I think it was one of AA's more impressive wins in a while. I think it was more that he realized Marquez couldn't hurt him than anything else to be honest. I wouldn't expect to see the same AA against Pavlik.
I guess Pavlik fights the winner of Williams/Wright and if Pavlik wins that fight he goes on to fight the winner of a potential Abraham/Sturm fight that's the best possible situation.
Theyll keep him safe for a coupla fights alot depends on the fact if Abraham is still a middleweight by the time Kellys managment have finished playing it safe with him.
I have to say, I'm not really surprised. I saw that from a million miles away when KP made the Hopkins fight. KP-AA will never happen, mark my words...
Ya -- they're gonna play it real safe by making sure Pavlik keeps his titles by fighting his ****ing MANDATORYatsch There isn't anything strange about KP wanting the winner of Williams/Wright. There's bad blood between KP and Winky that goes back YEARS! Williams has also talked a ton of **** about Pavlik AFTER turning down the chance to fight him. I'm sure Pav will be delighted by the opportunity to beat 7 shades of **** out of either man. As far as the quality of the opposition is concerned, if Winky still has 3/4 of a tank of gas left, he would embarrass Abraham 118-110. Arum wants AA to fight in the USA at least once more, preferably on a Pavlik card. That little tid bit of news is at least a year old! It would be nice if some of you guys actually followed boxing instead of just coming on ESB and making ignorant comments.
Kelly WANTS to unify the titles! The only way to do that is to fight AA! It will happen, unless AA goes up in weight.
Yeah, but I don't think Arum is rushing it. Nobody blames Kelly, he wants the best. But Arum is playing his cards very well. In 2 or 3 fights, Abraham will move up, and if Kelly can fight Rubio and Williams until then, the threat will be over. Of course I don't have behind the scene infos, but I'm sure Abraham won't be around 160 a year from now, and who can blame Pavlik not fighting Abraham at 168?
I know, right. Where has Pavlik or his team indicated that they won't take on anyone? This whole little development astounds me. Let the man fight his mandatory and then if he fights another Lockett wee can start slinging the ****.
And if he fights the winner of Wright v Williams, say, and Abraham gets fed up waiting and making the weight and moves up, we can sling **** then too?
