Pavlik blasts SM tournament

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Vincent Gottschalk, Jul 14, 2009.

  1. He says nobody watches Showtime ??...... what about Viasat, RTL, Sky Sports etc... this is a worldwide Tourney with Multi millions watching much bigger than getting 150k PPV buys on HBO.

He also say's this could ruin a career WELL it could also cement a legacy..... and I'm pretty sure they are not fighting for peanuts.... Kessler and AA can fill stadiums and large arena's they wouldn't fight if it was for peanuts..... Pavlik is lucky to sell out a mediuish arena in Ohio

Pavlik is a dick for saying that there ruining there careers ect? I praise these guys for taking a challenge on like this knowing full well the threats to there record. pavlik wasnt invited and he isnt a SMW so he should also keep his noes out of this then. you think the winner of the tounament is even gona want to fight a middle weight like pavlik? no!! becuase they would have accpmplished so much in this tounament alone

Off topic, but this is the latest SMW thread, so...

Does anyone know why ESPN / Dan Rafael is completely ignoring the tournament every single boxing and sport site is talking about? :think

He bitched about his loss to Hopkins in the post conference presser, its in his nature. He gods honest truth could not work out how he could lose to Hopkins when he had beaten Taylor twice, who you all know beat Hopkins twice.

All in all hes a joke, i used to like him but what a ****ing mardy ****.

Pavlik is a bald, overrated tomato can who just happens to have a little bit more power than your other ripe Mid-western tomato cans. We already saw what happens when said tomato can fights someone who actually knows what they are doing in the ring.

True. The last time I felt this good about boxing was back when Wlad fought Sam Peter (back when Peter was scaring the **** out of everyone) because it was such a change after the Ruiz-Byrd years. Suddenly, there were two young heavyweights with a ton of power taking each other on in a non-title fight. Lacy-Calzaghe and Hatton-Mayweather were similar: all of a sudden, logic was prevailing and the right fights were being made after years of dross.

Then again, these were all just single fights. This tournament is a whole series of fights and I think all of them will be at least pretty exciting to watch; some, like Kessler-Froch, could be FOTY candidates.
