Pavlik looked awful in his last fight it wouldn't suprise me if DeGale could get the better of him in this one.
very interesting match this. not one i was expecting either, but yeah degale would certainly give pavlik problems. pavlik's power might be significantly less threatening at 168 aswell; this has echos of kahn v barrera to me. ****** is a shrewd s.o.b.
Unless Pavlik is completely shot(which I don't think he is) then he beats DeGale up pretty good. I'm not sure I see this fight happening, this is the kind of fight that could really ruin someone's career. If Pavlik beats up DeGale and gives him his second straight loss it could take a long time for DeGale to get back to where he is now let alone contender status, but he would have time on his side. If DeGale beat Pavlik then its clear that Pavlik is done as a big time fighter and would probably spend the rest of his career as a big name opponent for others to cash in on. A lot more risk for Pavlik but its still a risky scenario for both. Interesting idea but I think its still Pavlik-Bute this fall.
I think it'd be a 50-50 fight tbh. Pavlik's past his best and I think DeGale is wrong for him stylisticly but DeGale is still green and Pavlik's mixed it at a higher level. I'd like to see it but I doubt we will.
Frank wanted this fight before the Groves fight , seen as though De Gale lost that fight i have absolutley no idead how Frank thinks this fight will fly ?? :huh IMHO Pavlik would walk him down and batter him ..............
What sort of Golden Gosse would be stopped in 5 by Pavlik ??? , Marco Antonio Rubio lasted longer than that !!! I like Pavlik here but he's not stopping De Gale in 5 :deal
:deal Since his loss to Bhops, Pavlik hasn't been the same. That's the truth. I'm not sure if DeGale is good enough to beat Pavlik, but I wouldn't be surprised if he would. If Pavlik hasn't done anything to improve which there are no signs that he has, he should just cash out on Bute. Afterwards then take the DeGale fight. Unless he really has done something in camp that suggests he's serious and improving his game then DeGale might be a good tuneup before Bute. But as I mentioned, I have not seen even a zilch of improvement and Kelly has no one to blame, but himself. I mean, even Arreola has upped his game FFS. Pavlik just about frustrates me almost as Rocky Juarez did. Good fighters that never did anything to improve their game.
Its a facinating fight, if it happens. DeGale lost to Groves due to the fantastic tactics of Groves and his team. I dont think Pavlik can box to a gameplan like Groves. It could be that Pavlik takes DeGales head off, or it could be that DeGale is as good as many originally believed and DeGale schools Pavlik. I would pick DeGale to outbox Pavlik
The kind of overprotected,****** golden goose thats fighting levels above what he has done in the past. You've obviously seen Degale fight,so you know how easy he is to hit. Whether Pavlik has any pop in his punches at 168 remains to be seen, but as shopworn and damaged as Pavlik is,i still think he has too much for Degale.
After Haye/Audley I'm surprised you can sell a fight ticket in GB. Yet..... I don't understand the business side like the promoters do and probably never will. It is still about maximizing profits with the assets you have.
Because technically hes miles ahead of Pavlik, Degales loss came against Groves who had a master tactician the Dark Destroyer in his corner, so Degales loss isnt so bad if you think about it seeing as he had dork in his corner.
