    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    My original joke was that he was visiting Lennox Lewis to talk about a comeback...but mention "comeback" and "Lennox Lewis" in the same sentence and the rumor mills will start up almost instinctively.

    **** off. Stop acting like Pavlik is pulling a Floyd. He went up in weight to fight an alltime great Hopkins.

    Just checked the Vindy.com. An article was posted tonight at 7:13pm. Kelly talks about strum/ abraham. He stated that he is taking care of business at 160. Anyhow, Vindy, said that there would more details tomorrow. Check it out..

    Yep -- I just read that, and he said he would have been interested in the tourney, but wasn't invited. That seems logical since Sauerland was the brains behind the tourney, and trust me, Sauerland ain't lettin' Kelly God Damn Pavlik anywhere near his cash cow Arthur "the can killer" Abraham.

    He mentioned Sturm, said he won't take the fight unless somebody puts up some more money. $2 million for Pavlik/Sturm is a gross insult to both fighters. Said he still wants Abraham, and said he'd like to fight the winner of the tournament whoever that is. No specific mention of Froch.

    If they added up, the fight would get done. I don't think the Top Rank PPV's do all that well. With Sturm he would have to guarantee a purse size and Arum doesn't seem to be willing to do that without the HBO money.

    Don't shoot me! I'm just the messenger, but a few days ago Arum said, "Felix Sturm is not a pay per view fighter, but Sergio Mora might be." Stupidiest thing I've heard Arum say in a long time. The man just does not learn. I do not what you know and don't know, but the bottom line is KP was close to leaving Top Rank over the Mora deal, and Arum is still yapping about it:patsch

    Hopefully HBO throws some more money in the pot.

    I know you didn't ask for it, but my guess is somehow Sturm-Pavlik gets made and in the meantime, HBO will wait a little longer for a Pavlik-Paul Williams fight to make some more dollars- and therefore more sense. The X factor is Gevor- who could very realistially upset Sturm. I don't know what would happen under that scenario.

    Outside of them, the division's filled with a number of up and comers, but nobody who'd fit the bill as a big fight...yet.

    To be honest with you I do not think HBO has ever had any real love for Pavlik. They picked him to make Miranda look good! Arum tried and tried to keep his fights off PPV and on regular HBO, but they wouldn't listen. They offered only $2 million for Pavlik/Sturm to split. I've never heard any real HBO specific numbers on Pavlik/Abraham, but I do think if HBO put up a good chunk of change, that fight would have happened.

    Anyway, I just checked the Top Rank twitter page, and it said "spread the word, but it's not official" in regard to Pavlik/Froch. As hot as Froch is right now, putting his lights out in a good war would put KP right back where he was after the 2nd Taylor fight.

    Pavlik has a 'fight' attitude. Throws lots of punches. Yeah, I can appreciate a chess match. I was amazed at how many people on this board got down on Dawson for his last fight. What can you say if the so called 'hard core fans' can't appreciate that kind of fight? Yeah, Froch was exciting for 2 rounds against Taylor and pulled it out, but geez.....

    You got to wonder if Joe would consider a comeback against the fighter that wins this tournament, if Showtime do it right, it has the ability to generate a lot of interest in the fighters involved and naturally, the question would be "Ok, so how would the winner fare against JC?"

    Put 10-12 million in an offer for him and I believe he'd come back.
