When his Jaw got broken did his legs turn to jelly? No. He kept fighting. AA knows that Pavlik can be hurt and trust me with his arsenal of punchs Pav will have a bad night.

If the fight was in a neutral place, any ref would have stopped the fight and awarded the TKO to Miranda. So to say he wasn't hurt, just isn't true. A TKO counts just like a KO.

Oh, another guy who has no arguments but instead starts throwing insults around.

Sure the broken jaw hurt but he wasn´t hurt the way this word is used in boxing. I think you know what I meant but instead decided to play Mr. Know-it-all.

And actually, Miranda could also have been DQed for his headbutting, holding and hitting, rabbit punching and low blowing.

Let's try a little reality check here guys. Elvyn Ayala went life and death with Sergio Mora, and the best he could manage was a draw. It took AA nearly 12 full rounds to get rid of Ayala. Nobody in there right mind believes that Mora or Ayala could make 5 rounds with Pavlik, and yet all of a sudden AA is going to beat Pavlik

Styles make fights, and stylistically Pavlik is Arthur's worst nightmare. Abraham is 5' 10" and looks like he could easily make 154. Pavlik is 6' 2" 1/2 and basically a LHW who somehow manages to boil down to 160. Arthur throws 30 to 40 punches per round AT BEST. He fights for 45-60 seconds out of every 3 minutes. Pavlik at his best throws monster punches with both hands from long range with 40-50% accuracy. At his best he'll throw 100 punches in a round, and he works every second of every round. Arthur spends a **** load of time on the ropes and in the corners. Pavlik loves to put a guy on the ropes, and then use his usually under-rated foot work to turn the ring into a ****ing phone booth and close the show. Arthur would volunteer to get into Kelly's phone booth, and then it's over. Size, strength, work rate, stamina, jab, effective combinations, finishing skills, ring generalship, and the ability to implement his corner's instructions all go to Pavlik. Arthur might have a better chin, and a bit more one-punch KO power, but that is a big maybe. Pavlik KO8 Abraham.

And by the way; Taylor KO10 Abraham, Zuniga UD12 Abraham, Winky UD12 Abraham.

Like you said, styles make fights.

So many false things in there. Abraham has trouble making 160 and is talking about getting up to 168 after the possible match against Pavlik but you say he could make 154 easily? BS!
Yeah Abraham isn´t as tall as Pavlik but he isn´t smaller. And surely Pavlik isn´t stronger than Abraham, that´s a toss up. His fight with Miranda was at 166 and he looked ripped like always.
Yeah, Abraham is lazy in the ring but that´s his style and it worked for him, didn´t it. That´s why he carries his power into the late rounds. Would it cost him the fight against Pavlik? Yes, if it goes to the scorecards it probably would.
Yeah, Pavlik throws many hard punches but would he land at 40-50% accuracy against Abraham? Certainly not. Abraham has a superior defence to everybody Pavlik faced - and i don´t talk about his shell but also about his lateral movement, Taylor has the better footwork but beside him, AA has better footwork than anybody Pavlik fought.
Yep, Pavlik likes his opponent in the corner but Abraham loves his opponent to come to him when he is in the corner. Funny, isn´t it? It´s Pavlik strength to go after his opponents and it´s Abraham´s strength to counter those who are coming after him. Who is better at his game? I don´t know but Abraham´s superior defence, chin, ring generalship, power and Pavlik´s open defence and shaky chin gives us a clue what could happen.
Pavlik is an accumulation puncher not a one-punch puncher. Would he hit Arthur often and clean enough to KO/TKO him? If i look at AA´s defence I think the chance for that to happen is less than 10%.

I agree Taylor would outbox Abraham and would be favourite, out of a three fight series Taylor would win two.
Zuniga would get beaten. He has as much of a chance as Miranda had.
At this stage Winky-Arthur is a toss up. The Winky of two years ago would beat him.

Abraham is one of the most over rated fighters on ESB, and it is all based on beating Mranda. He has looked good knocking out a lot of "C" level fighters. Other than a KO over Miranda he has utterly failed to be impressive.

His management knows who he is. That's why he fought Ayala instead of Zuniga who was the righful mandatory.

Personally, now that Calzaghe is insiting he'll retire after RJJ, I'm looking forward to January. The more hype euro fanboys poor on AA, the better it will look when Pavlik tears his head off. Apart from a lucky punch, AA has virtually no chance of beatiing Pavlik. Looping haymakers and lunging right hands in between covering upon the ropes just won't get the job done.

I notice you didn't answer my post , but posted a 'reality' check instead.

    That's reality ?

By that reasoning, Mayorga beat up Forrest, twice, and Forrest beat up Mosley, twice, so what's Mosley doing taking on Mayorga ? Surely "Nobody in there right mind believes" he has a chance.

And this, despite you saying that "Styles make fights..."

If Kelly wants to be the man at middleweight, he needs to fight Abraham unify the titles.

As I've already said, this would be a pick'em fight.

Yeah, sure I overrate him because of the Miranda fight. Boy, I follow his career since his first televised fight, I saw nearly every fight and actually he lives just a few blocks away from where I live and we´ve met a few times when we both did our roadwork. I´m surely basing my pick not on the Miranda fight.
And who did Pavlik fight? Apart from Miranda and Taylor he also fought only bums. Zuniga isn´t any better than Ikeke or Eastman who both were beaten by AA. Their opposition is pretty much equal.
And yeah, AA is just throwing looping haymakers when he´r on the ropes - all the straight rights, left hooks to body and head and uppercuts are all just imagination.

I don't know about that, Boo. Abraham is very muscular for his height - and built like a tank. In an interview I read before his fight with the Miranda rematch, he said fighting at 166 is better due to making 160 being hard at times.

But that'd be badass if he somehow could make 154. :hat

You are only saying that because it took him 12 rounds to find The Great Bellhop Ayala with one.

Well, we can't have this both ways. Others have posted the shot that broke AA's jaw was a 'lucky punch' that landed when AA's mouth was open. Do you know what causes a knock out?:huh

Pavlik doesn't mind close combat. Now he's a huge puncher, but so is Abraham... in fact, Abraham may carry a bit more power in one punch, though Kelly's workrate is much higher. But the point is, Abraham has a cast iron chin and has never been down. Took monster shots under horrible conditions with a dislocated jaw, nothing happened. Pavlik, while his chin is solid, he was in deep trouble against Taylor... Abraham hits much harder. Pavlik did take Miranda's punches, though.

But when it comes to a fight where it will go to a number of exchanges sooner or later and both have big power and comparable defence, i like to go with the stronger beard. Abraham. If it goes to the scorecards, Pavlik is a pretty sure bet however. It will be a great fight, one of the best potential fights... i hope it's made before the end of this year.
