He'll do the right thing. Prob box his ears off for a few rounds & then start loading up. He'll take his time in there. I'm sure mentally he'll be OK, knowing that he wasn't 100% in the B Hop mess. Bet he'd like to have that one back.

When HBO originally turned down a Rubio fight for September 2008, and before the mad scramble for a fall opponent started, Arum offered Kelly $1 million to fight Rubio on a privately produced PPV. KP turned it down, and ask for something that would pay better. He got $3 million for fighting BHop, but now here he is, his zero gone, and fighting Rubio on a privately produced PPV. I bet he wishes he had a "do over" on the whole freaking thing!

He needs to get some experience, but don't take risks.

I'd say work behind the jab and throw in some new combos from time to time, break the guy down and finish him mid-late. He needs to show us a bit more boxing I think and give the fans a show, don't just blast him away with big rights in 3 rounds like Gary Locket.

Even though it hurts, its all behide us now. Time to look ahead to the future. Abraham will be a huge fight & challenge, so there are exciting things in store for KP.

    :good

Abraham is THE FIGHT to make, but if I had my way we would see Pavlik/Sturm first. If KP beats Abraham, no one will give two hoots in hell about Pavlik/Sturm, but if Pav beat Sturm first, AA/KP becomes even bigger.

I would love to see KP vs Sturm. Strum is a good technician with a great jab, but I don't think Sturm (or his management) wants any part of Kelly.

He should start using the left hook more.

Absolutely -- there were times when Hopkins would have ran right into it, but KP just didn't use it.

I think Pavlik will just go in and demolish him. Rubio better bring at least 3 mouthgaurds, because the first couple are probably going through the back of his head.

I laughed out loud at this one. Kelly is very, very good at what he does, and he'll probabaly go out and put his normal routine in hyperdrive for this one.

I don't think you'll see a different Kelly. Rubio is a dead man walking! I was at the fight in oct and Rubio's lucky he didn't get KO'd.
