Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said the company postponed Kelly Pavliks upcoming fight with Sergio Mora because they did not get Pavliks medical clearance in time to finalize the pay-per-view portion of the show. There are millions of dollars involved and other fighters and we didnt want to jerk anyone, said Arum, whose company was going to air the event independently on June 27. We didnt want to go through with it without having a clear report on the status of his hand. Pavlik admitted he suffered a minor staph infection in his hand, which developed from a cut suffered during training for Februarys bout with Marco Antonio Rubio, but said the cut healed weeks ago and he already received clearance from a doctor. Arum said he didnt get that information in time. We didnt want to do everything at the last minute, said Arum. We ran out of time to get the commercials and the other materials to the cable systems. For more details, read Friday's Vindicator or visit Vindy.com. What Bob? Nobody at Top Rank knows how to make a ****ing phone call?atsch
So let me get this straight......Pavlik vs Mora will actually happen only later on. Ladies and gentlemen kiss Pavlik vs Abraham goodbye.
You know I would be one of the first ones up in this thread.... Bob Arum? Not Honest Bob? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl He and Cotto both need to leave that mother****er, along with Clottey and Pac.
That article I posted a link to in you 'fishy' thread stated the contracts were signed and mailed back a couple weeks ago AND that Kelly just 're-upped' with Top Rank through 2010 was it?
I think it's still possible we could see Pavlik v Abraham at 168, I don't think 160 is a possibility though as Arum seems content to get this Pavlik v Mora fight on the go and Abraham's time at middle-weight is quickly running out. It looks the real spark for me though if it happens at 168, because we don't know what both fighters are like above 160 really, I mean Pavlik hasn't looked great at all in his 2 catchweight fights against Taylor & Hopkins. Plus the undisputed championship isn't on the line. Should of happened before Pav stepped up and got dominated by B-Hop.
This **** really ain't funny... I know I talk a lot of **** about Pav, but you know what? He ain't a bad dude, and he deserves a lot more respect than what he is given by Arum. It is obvious to me that he needs to go another route.
Cotto really needs to leave. When Top Rank back Margarito after he gets caught cheating and maybe doing a show in mexico so he can keep active, Cotto should be gone. But suppose he's on a certain number of fights contract so can't leave till thats over with. :-(
Is mental ******ation a requirement for sporting a David Haye avatar? I'm only asking because I see a pattern emerging.
