Who's taking it at this catch-weight this time? Honestly, I don't see a trilogy here. I can't imagine the 166 lbs. catch weight that Taylor requested is going to help him much (if anything, I think it'll help Pavlik). I don't think Taylor's going to be able to erase the memory of that last KO loss, and he won't be able to let his hands go. He'll probably be on his bike for most of the fight, making for a less than stellar rematch. Pavlik will stalk, landing occassionally and trying to pile up rounds. I'd be psyched to see some knockdowns and good exchanges, but I don't think it'll happen. Still, I am expecting Taylor to box much better to turn it in his favor and there is a reasonably good chance that most of the fight will look like rounds four and five of their last meeting - those were the only rounds when they tried to box more conservatively and not entirely focused on finishing it or switch the momentum.
Very good analysis boo. You should start analyzing more fights on fight week. I agree that Pavlik has the weight advantage. The power is going to play a factor for both fighters. Both fighters are moving up in weight and are gonna carry more power at this higher weight. I dont see this fight going past 8.
