This one will play more or less like Pavlik vs Miranda, with both fighters slugging it out for a while, before Pavlik lands something really big and then the fight gets stopped in the mid-rounds.
Maybe you should do a bit of research before you comment on this sort of thing. Pavlik suffered a flash knock down against Fulgencio Zuniga when Zuniga, who had about an 88% ko ratio, caught him with a brutal left hook. That was 7 fights ago, and Pav was up at about a count of 1 or 2. McKart hit Pavlik on the shoulder when he was off balance, and Kelly's gloves brushed the canvass. In the Taylor fight Kelly caught about 7 or 8 flush shots from a fighter who hits a whole hell of a lot harder than Duddy, and was up at the count of 2. That's a total of 3 times in 33 fights, and some of those fights took place as high as 170 pounds. That hardly qualifies as "several times." Think about what Miranda did to Abraham's face, and then consider the fact that Pavlik ate those same punches like they were ****ing M&M's! I won't be surprised if Duddy has to be carried out of the ring. Boo
good assessment, i agree. Its going to be hard watching duddy get beaten so badly, he's a real likeable kid.
At least it's not a Diaz-Katsidis situation where a light puncher will be damaging a fighter with no defense round after round, ruining their health. Pavlik will blow Duddy out of there in a few rounds. Katsidis will be putting his entire career at risk if Diaz lands around 500 punches on him before their fight ends.
So he has been down several times - more than a couple counts as several in my books! I voted for a Pavlik victory on points but I wouldnt rule out a Duddy victory. Duddy is getting serious disrespect in this thread with some posters calling him a c grade fighter. Thats bull**** and I think you know that. Do you really consider Duddy as being outside the top 30 middleweights? I doubt he is! I am not sure where all this Duddy hate comes from - he is possibly the most likeable and intelligent boxer out there - I challenge any hater out there to youtube one of his interviews and not to like this unassuming guy. Asides that he has very good boxing ability - his defense is really ropey and there isnt enough lateral head movement but you could say the same about Kelly. I think a lot of the negfativity surround the Campus fight - I have to say I dont think it was a great performance but I dont argee with some that say Yori Boy should have won that fight - I've watched it three times and its clear he didnt - I had it 116 - 112. When Kelly was at the same point in his career as Duddy he had fought lower opposition than Duddy has - infact until last May and the Miranda fight Kelly hadnt fought anyone of note infact I would say that Walid Smicht is better than anything that Kelly fought before that - infact I would say that Eastman, Campus and even Strickland and superior to anything Kelly faced before his "step up" - granted Kelly was banging his lower opposition out but I think some posters need to check themselves. Yes I think Kelly will win but dont underestimate Duddy to such an extent that you consider him a walkover.
pavlik is most certainly not invincible and does not have the greatest defence as JT indly showed us all last week, although he possesses a strong jab and a clubbing right hand,he isnt fast enough to keep an opponent like duddy (who has an iron chin) off him for 12 rounds, duddy will be able to slip in often (his movement has improved vastly) and catch kelly on the inside allowing him to pick up a hell of alot of points.saying that,i see duddy getting outworked to a tough 12 round decision.duddy may snatch it though depending on the judges. and **** you guys constantly disrespecting duddy,he's the most likeable guy in the game at the minute and puts all he has on the line everytime he fights,to call him a bum not only makes you look stupid but direspects every boxer out there.
