If there were one fighter I could pick from 154-175 to fight Pavlik and make him look like an absolute ****ing god, it would be Froch. In a battle between two aggressive powerhouses, the guy with the better fundamentals usually wins. Pavlik will be quicker to the punch and take Froch out of there early. Think Hagler/Hearns.

"Old man river"? Hopkins would beat the granny out of Froch if they fought; at least Pavlik managed to last 12.

    Who's that in your avatar?

No way Froch sees the final bell . Too wide open for For Pavliks straight shots. And if there is one person Pav has a better defense than its Froch

    quality.

Two fairly robotic boxers, it could either be an entertaining war or a dirty fight with a lot of wrestling etc

    Can't pick a winner though

To be honest, I don't even think it would go that far. At least Miranda had some semblance of a defence and the ability to fight off the back foot. Froch only has one real gear, and he'd just walk into right hand after right hand; and, as Hermit said, if Taylor can put him down with a right then Pavlik sure as hell can, and he'd finish the job. Don't see it going more than 3 or 4.

Good fight! I think Kelly could outbox him, if he trades he gets in trouble and loses rounds. Possible late stoppage for Froch.

Is Kelly Pavlik 14 seconds better than Jermain Taylor? The historical record says he is.

Styles make fights, and Froch is even more open to Pavlik's best weapons than Taylor was.

In the first six rounds Jermain landed damn near everything he threw with the left hand. Pavlik has a better, stiffer, more versatile left than JT.

JT blisterred Froch's head with lead rights. Comparing Taylor's lead right to Pavlik's lead right is like comparing a 38 special to a bazooka.

    1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, down goes Froch. 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, down goes Froch. All night long.

Pavlik will beat him with no real problem. Froch is easy to hit and he is going to stand right in front of him. Kelly is to much for him and he is hitting hard. Froch drops his hands low to pavlik prob knock him out. Froch is not nice i dont what skills you see that make that great.:bbb

this is one of the easier fantasy matchups to call. pavlik is awesome at 160. but he cant go up in weight. it's no surprise he has never ko'd anyone when he's fought above 160.

IMHO froch will absolutely blitz pavlik in this fight.

Froch is far too strong for Pavlik, who has never looked good above 160lbs. People are kidding themselves if they think he could mix it with any top 168lber. It's like Hatton at 147lbs, he's just not the same fighter.

Pavlik's record at, near, or above SMW is 13-1 with 11 KO's. Next time check your facts before you type.
