Personally, I feel Monzon would completely outclass Pavlik but ask this question over on Classic.

Classic would probably **** on this thread more intensely than General.

Well for starters... he only had one of the best jabs in history, and would beat Kelly to the jab more often then not. He was one of the most accurate, and intelligent fighters of all time, and was always able to maintain the pace of a fight in his favor. He hit MORE then hard enough to dent Pav's chin, and Pav's overrated power isnt having any effect on Monzon's steel chin. In fact, Pav doesnt even have a power edge. Based on WHAT does he hit harder then Monzon?

Dwarfs? Yeah, as if Pavlik would beat Emile Griffith, Bennie Briscoe, and Valdez.

Pavlik would be nothing but a big target for Monzon. The gap in skill, and toughness is so big that it makes this a mismatch.

Now go away before I make YOU look like a gutter poster.

:rofl You're joking, right? This pawing thing?

He looks like he's trying to pat him on the hand!

With his massive advantages in size, reach and speed? Pavlik has a very good jab himself.

Does he hit harder than Miranda?

Biscoe had Monzon reeling all over the ring and he was put down by Valdez (by almost an identical right hand to the one that Taylor landed on Pavlik, which didn't). Both were decent punchers, but do they hit significantly harder than Pavlik?

I'm not saying he does, though he definitely has a more aggressive style.

He could well beat Briscoe, and could have a good shot at Valdez. I never made that claim though. Monzon's style had limited effectiveness.

You'll do no such thing. Your sum contribution to this forum has been childish nuthuggery/hate and the continual posting of cringeworthy match-up threads.

, you really don't rate Monzon do you itry.

Fair enough, though i really don't see anything wrong with the jabs in that clip. Most of the time he's definitely not pawing with it, though some are certainly lazier than others. It's typical languid early rounds Monzon really.

No use in debating w/someone who questions the ability of Monzon.

And for the record.... yes Monzon hit harder then that bum Miranda! Who the hell has Miranda ever proven his power against?

Miranda probably has similar power to Monzon but the huge difference is accuracy. The accuracy Monzon had, makes him dangerous for any middleweight, even if he didn't have raw power.

Anyway, Monzon wins but looks bad. Neither guy has an advantage stylistically, so it would be a scrappy, clear UD for Monzon.
