What they all have in common is that they were mandatories, if you know what that word means. And Rose? Read the ****ing thread before you post, dip****.
That could be an interesting fight. Chef has first hand knowledge of Cintron, says he is very talented but has no heart. He ducks out of sparring sessions if they get too rough. If Cintron can do early what Martinez did early, we may have a fight. Otherwise, Cintron will look for a way out from under Williams relentless pressure.
I'm not a Williams apologist, but I could see where that makes sense. If you think someone is lowballing you, it might not be the right move to take the fight right away, even if it's for a good payday. Could backfire, but I can understand why Williams' team didn't accept (not that I agree with them - I think they're overvaluing Paul a bit).
That would make a hell of a lot more sense, although I'm not sure Rhodes (who's also a light middleweight, who convincingly lost to Gary Lockett) is that much better. Very similar to Espino actually - short tough guy who will try to work inside, although Rhodes' defense is infinitely better than Espino's. If he's heading to England for a fight, he should be taking Macklin or Barker. Those two have actually done something to earn a middleweight title shot, and are just as big of names, and probably make more exciting fights as well.
NBA, who seems to get his "rumor" from pretty close to the source said that Pavlik would get $10 mill for the fight. :rofl If Pavlik handles Martinez in 'good fashion' I could see Arum pulling his standing offer to Williams.
Oh, I think it's the wrong move for Williams' camp. 50/50 seems ridiculous to me (Pavlik is clearly the bigger draw) and I think it's more likely that Pavlik's status will bounce back a bit than that Williams would greatly improve his standing with a win over Cintron. Reminds me of when Marquez turned down a career high payday because he thought Bob Arum was lowballing him on a Pacquiao rematch, then ended up losing to Chris John in Indonesia for $30,000. Then again, in the long run, it worked out for Marquez, who eventually made more in the Pacquiao rematch than he would have if they had rematched right away.
Dont defend mandatories you *****. Let me tell you what you shoud or maybe already know and thats these guys gotta pay to keep this alphabelt belts so whats the point of having them ? Ring Magazine is the only linear title and Pavlik owns it those other titles are simply an excuse for every fighter to avoid top challenges. Its simple as **** ok ill defend agianst mandatory bum 1 then when thats done I gotta fight new mandatory bum 2 while Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez are busy knocking each other senseless for no Championship. STFU and stop defending scum.
u are a ass. if pavliks a big joke why are u even commenting on him...he is fighting martinez in april and i guess hes a can too? stop posting
so u are saying pavliks scum. then i am gonna say the same to u, why do u post on a pavlik thread if u hate the guy..is it just to act like a bad ass.
Im just calling it like I see it stop fighting cans this doesnt make me feel badass trust me I dont get any macho feeling out of this. I dont hate a guy I dont know I kinda meant scum more towards Arum as I feel hes the main reason behind this pathetic title defenses, Pavlik just does as Arum says.
Well, we keep hearing that looks good but it will be nice when the announcement is made. Williams vs Cintron? Paul didn't wanna pick up his career high pay day and an 'easy' title and is instead taking on Cintron? :-( See the news about Billy Lyell? What would the haters do if Jack Loew ends up with TWO MW title holders? :think... Really a shame that Billy gets ranked at MW because of his win over Duddy even though he walks around at JMW. I wonder if he should play the 'weight game' and try WW?
well if billy wins then i am sure they will say something neg. about him or jack. next week i think it will be announced with kelly.
I will have some fun with this... But Kelly will not be fighting Rose. He just threw a name out there. But if he was interested in going to England to fight there has to be a reason. 1. Offered alot of money and 2. Setting something up down the road. Maybe a Froch vs Pavlik in England is in Kelly's plans down the road. Maybe he wants to go to England to get a feel for the country , time change etc. As I said we do not 100 % know whats going on with the fighters, because we are not them or in there camp. Before everyone starts to lose it over this prospect, I think we should just sit back and wait. More than likely it's Martinez vs Pavlik in April. then we will see from there.
Billy took the fight at a weeks notice shame but you know some times you only get one shot and I'm sure he will be getting paid well hes a good kid
