"Taylor-Pavlik 2" was a lousy choice for PPV.......... Just because the initial fight was an upset loss for Taylor, and that Pavlik was a white boy, that greedy ******* Bob Arum took a chance and went PPV for the rematch..... Not a good move for boxing...... Taylor has not and will not ever be a sellable hot PPV commodity.....:yep:bbb

Honestly...... Believe it or not, the "White Boy" image is no longer the hot seller in USA boxing anymore...... That ticket went out the door in the 1990s........ "White Boys" are losing ground... Today, it is a young Latino kid who's coming up and speaks English that'll be the next American PPV star........ The question is: "Who'll be the next Oscar De La Hoya?" I don't know nor have I spotted that person yet, but he is in the making somewhere in the states.......

If James Kirkland comes through he will be a hot ticket seller.
He's got the story, he's got the style to attract crowds.

It's more like another tune-up before fighting Abraham.

True -- It's also true that Pavlik and Mora have THE SAME number of fights at 154. Does that make Pavlik to small to fight at 160? Mora made his professioanl debut at 160, and all but 2 of his fights were at 160. In the amature ranks he was eliminated from the 2000 Olympic trials by the same man that eliminated Pavlik; Jermain Taylor.

You bet -- It's absolutley ludicrous to fight Taylor and Hopkins, chase hard after fights with Calzaghe and Winky, and fight two mandatories in just 17 months:patsch

Wrong Bill -- Arum wanted Pavlik/Taylor II on regular HBO. It was HBO that foolishly pushed for PPV. Now they won't buy mismatches, but everbody makes more money on a Top Rank PPV than they would on Versus or ESPN. Pavlik has only been in the natioanl spot light for about 20 months; since the Miranda fight. Stop acting like this **** has been going on for years and years. It hasn't.

The problem with Kirkland is HBO spends way too much time trying to push Anne Wolfe as a sideshow attraction.

She should get zero to no attention on those HBO hype videos. It should all be about Kirkland turning his life around, not "Hey his trainer is a woman!" talk.

Team Pavlik has not signed the Mora fight. No one is talking about Mundine except Mundine. Karmazin has not been assigned an opponent for a title eliminator. Duddy has to settle his legal issues and stack up a couple decent wins before he would even be considered. Other than that --- I guess you have it all figured out.

Bad Top Rank only PPVs HAVE been going on for years though.

As per people making more money on PPV than Versus or ESPN, I don't doubt it...but it seems short sighted.

I agree that the low rent PPV's are very short sighted. Like I keep saying, if Adamek and Cunningham can fight on Versus, some of these other guys ought to be able to do the same thing. years ago when I worked in Auto Sales we used to use what we called "Loss Leaders." You mark a few cars down to ridiculously low prices, and then you "lead" with them in your advertising. Brings people on to the lot, and gets a little buzz going, so ultimately, you make money. Same principle could work well in boxing.

    Okay -- Let's go with Vindy.com:

Abraham has only fought once in the United States — he knocked out Edison Miranda last June in Miami — and does not have a high profile among American fight fans. Consequently, Arum told The Ring he would not pursue a pay-per-view bout.
“Talks are going on right now. It’s going to happen. Kelly has definitely signed off on it, and Abraham wants it too,” said Arum.
After Abraham’s win over Simon, he told reporters he wanted to fight Pavlik before moving up to super middleweight. Pavlik has repeatedly said he’d like to unify the titles and would like to fight Abraham.

Last from Vindy.com was that it was close, but that was over a week ago now. I was at an interview where Arum said he wasn't sure he would touch Mundine because of his remarks. Unless you can show me ANY source that says it is done.... It would have been local news. Future fights are always a guessing game.
