Mother****er how long have you been watching Pavlik you part-time boxing fan? Because I've been keeping track of his for years, and he's cleary a much better fighter than he used to be and has shown significant improvements over the years. He's turned form a highly limited aggressor, to an all out bruiser, to a fighter who now knows how to use his height and reach behind a jab. Those are all significant improvements and to think that with his experience and talent that he can't improve some more is just ****ing ridiculous. Maybe Kelly won't ever be able to beat the likes of Hopkins, but before it's all said and doen Kelly will be a much better fighter than what he showed us in that loss.
Mayweather Sr couldn't improve that poor footmovement ... that poor head and shoulder movement ... He backs up in straight lines ...
Most fighter can be exposed and most of them are. Look at all great fighters, they are a bad style matchup away from being exposed. Doesn't mean they are not great, but that someone found the key to them. Tyson was exposed by Douglas, but before that he looked great-although some of that had to do with Mike not being up for the fight. Duran was a guy exposed by Benitez and Leonard as someone who cannot deal with guys who move laterally and have fast hands, and Hearns in a way was exposed by Hagler as a guy whose offense is his defense as Hagler said. Hearns also had a tendency to want to brawl and risk being caught. But, it does not mean they were not great. All fighters have that one flaw which other great fighters look for to exploit. They can improve on it and not be as flawed. The greats usually improve. The losses do not do as much to hurt a legacy as what comes later to show that they learned and fixed that flaw.
Yes he could. But he could only improve it to a certain amount. He can't make Pav look like PBF, but he can make him look better.
all agreed pav needs some help in training he looks so akward if he didnt have the power he has he wouldnt be a good fighter at all in the amatuers he had better movements he really could box
You don't have to be athletic to be able to improve an asset. Kelly Pavlik definetely can make some improvements.
How am I talking ****?, wasn't it pretty obvious that he lacks technical skills and has poor defense? :huh Even before Hopkins destroyed him and made him look like the 50 year old in the ring wasn't it obvious that he lacked technical abilities and defense?
He wasn't exposed, all of that was pretty clear even before Hopkins fought him. Was anyone paying attention to it?, obviously not.
I never heard you or many others say this before the Hops fight. And now that Pavlik has a loss on his record, surprise, surprise, the Taylor backers come out of the woodwork and start talking **** about Kelly. I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not.
