I watched Pavlik/Taylor 2 back to back with Calzaghe/Kessler. Taylor is faster than all three, but Pavlik did OK against Taylor. Joe said he would come back to 168 for Pavlik. That was before Hopkins made him realize he really does belong on the senior tour.
Pavlik is the real deal ... there's no hype around him ... he knocked out some very credible fighters and hasn't even reached his peak as of yet. We all know that Pavlik isn't going to stay at MW for too much longer ... we know that Pavlik hasn't filled out his frame ... and we all know that Pavlik has a ton of power in both hands. He's always in good shape and has a rugged method of training ... His chin is solid and he has more skill than he's shown against past opponents ... I think once he gets more rounds end and is forced to adjust in fights ... i'm pretty sure that there's not going to be too many fighters that could beat him. And him pushing that damn tire is amazing ...
Lots of American's picked Cal over Bhop. It was a close fight. Pavlik>Talor>Bhop. Follow the line. I think Taylor beats Joe. I hope the Kessler/Taylor fight gets made. Lots of speculation ends, either way. :yep

You know I would have said before the Hopkins fight that I dont know who wins between Pavlik vs Joe. But with the way Joe went down with really an average punch from Bhop (whos not known to have heavy hands).. If Kelly can establish that long jab of his I see him Koing Joe. His output will match that of Joe as well. The only thing Joe has over Kelly is speed..his hands that is...besides that Kelly will gladly take punches smiling to get to Joe
Love Pavlik, he's great for the sport, but his style isn't the one to beat Joe. You want to beat, you gotta be faster and ready to punch more than him. While Pavlik has the KO chance, and a pretty good work rate, its not the workrate of Joe. Joe might get knocked down, but not knocked out. Joe by UD, 116-112.
Getting knocked down by Pavlik once or twice is more serious than getting decked by Hopkins. If you plan on Joe going down, plan on him being hurt.
