The way Hopkins was promoted going into this fight and the way Pavlik was hyped had this written all over it, yet no one complains nor mentions that. :-(
Who cares? Hopkins was coming off a loss in a fight he looked terrible down the stretch, and Pavlik was an undefeated champion who is exciting to watch, beat Taylor soundly twice, and smoked the last fighter in 3 rounds he was in the ring with (albeit limited).
i thought that short bald guy in the pavlik camp was going to bring a cross into the ring and light it on fire after the scores were announced.
Prime Hopkins would have stopped KP. I thought KP would KO Hopkins but I was wrong. Hopkins has the ring smarts and KP was exposed as a fighter lacking a complete arsenal of skills. To get schooled that badly can only means he is over-reliant on one aspect of his fighting. For the KP lovers, the positives are: - he comes back to 160, 10 pounds is a lot of weight - he is intelligent and will hopefully learn from this fight negatives: - he may not be the same, confidence-wise
What I want to know Pimp has nothing to do with racist bull**** on ESB. What I want to know is WHERE THE **** was Kelly's corner when he was so clearly in trouble??? I did not hear Jack Leow give Kelly one single piece of meaningful instruction. Good fighters come back stronger after a loss. They often do that by making changes and adjustments. One change Pavlik should be seriously considering is Leow. That corner tonight was every bit as inept as Kessler's corner in the Calzaghe fight. Thoughts??
That's what I'm talking about. Leow kept telling him to do what wasn't working. And then, after it got to the point where KP clearly needed a KO, Leow acted like some ****ing little league coach by molly coddling Pav intead of getting after his ass to get the job done. Did Leow ever telly Kelly "step to your left, and throw a lead right." **** NO!
