Life doesn't work that way. Margo beat Cotto and Williams beat Margo yet I'd easily take Cotto over Williams. Hearns beat Duran and Leonard beat Hearns yet Duran beat Hearns right?

Pavlik was sick but even a fully healthy Pavlik loses (in pretty much the same fashion) to the Hopkins that was out there that night. He pearl harbored Kelly by switching his ENTIRE fight strategy for one night.

He's set to fight Rubio(his WBC mandatory) next and after it he's supposed to fight Abraham as Arum already announced.

    Scar's got it right.

If he can't get his momentum back vs Rubio (a smaller guy who won't be confusing anyone with Wilfred Benitez defensively), it won't be coming back period. Look for Kelly to get back on track in impressive fashion.

If Pavlik remains at 160 and doesnt fight Abraham within 2009

    He is clearly ducking him

Sorry but Hopkins was absolutely tremendous in that fight and would've dished out a schooling regardless.
After Taylor got KO'd in the first fight(for really going for it) he went into defensive mode in the second...KP just couldn't get to him.
So when he was due to face Hopkins,a defensive master, there was only going to be one outcome.
He was too inexperienced for that type of fight.

He needs to repair his image at 160. We'll see a few devastating defences and the bandwagon will be up and running again.

He got beat by a legend who put on an absolute masterclass, If Pavlik is smart he watches the tape and learns what went wrong and come's back stronger like the Champion he is.

    He should dominate at 160.

    -Rubio
    -Sturm
    -Abraham
-Williams (if PW can dominate 154)

Then possibly jump to 168 and fight Kessler, etc.

  11. Pavlik would annihilate Sturm and fighting Rubio is crap but mandatory
